The lack of activity make me wonder how much effort we should put forth in keep coming up with modifications/packages.

For example it would be possible to create a package so that all the bikes were replaced with ATV's, snowmobiles, trucks, buggies, etc.  These packages take time, because you would want some variety in the models and they would all need skins.

Bruce

;D ....wowzer ... this all sure sounds great... cant wait to check it out. In regards to DT's example of possibilitiesbout changing all bike models to atvs, buggies, etc ..... any possibilities of applying someones existing bike skins to the new models?  Ahhh or how about beimg able to choose different tires (i.e. paddles, snow studs, etc) ... well.... just a couple thoughts that came to mind... ::)

peace

cR

applying existing bike skins to new models can't be done, that's done by the UVW mapping on the model itself...

different tires, hmm don't think that would be possible unless the prog could switch meshes in the SLT files? (idea?)

I hope this becomes a reality.. it would definately bring some new life to the game and may spark some interest within the community. Nice work.

I just want to say after a long hietus, I've already been blown away with the additions to MCM2.  I left the game right as people started making custom objects, now to come back and see that there are custom bikes, custom tricks, etc. I'm in shock.  If people find out about this stuff, I'd be confident that activity starts to rise.  I think I might've gotten back into the game for maybe a day or two if it weren't for all the new additions to MCM2 since I've been gone.  Track surprisingly are better than ever now, and I'm finally on a computer that manhandles MCM2(as is the case with most of the other old players).  The last time I played was on a 450mhz p2, 2 computers later I'm at 2.7ghz w/ a gig of ram.  The game is definitely more enjoyable now for me than it ever was, I'm sure for the people who start returning the case will be the same.

The bottome line is, someone has to get the word out about all these new changes, and I think that starts with re-opening mcm2central or atleast linking to this site and others.

WhiteBoy

everyone is still here... just some take longer breaks than others :) this is amazing stuff, i go to friends houses and see on their computers mcm2 and its 100% stock. than i come home and i feel like i have 500% of the game they have, all thanks to TD and of course, all the beautiful track makers, bike/rider skinners, 3d modelers and animaters. now this talk of a new game, i cant wait to see what kind of a boom this puts out and we r definately going to be seeing soem old timers revived and everyone is gooan b really pumped about it. but in the end i will still have both on my hard drive and will never get rid of mcm2, its too amazing for what it has become.

VMX_101

Very well put WhiteBoy,

I've taken my share of breaks, but just couldn't stay away.

Its great seeing old names, people I've always admired. I can't wait to see new tracks either. Its going to be very fun and interesting seeing the quality and quantity of tracks, and how people adapt their mcm making style to mva. Hopefully this will explode as much and more than mcm every did.
Ya, Im excited.
and I still play mcm every single day.

Speaking of that, I am having a difficult time finding your tracks Whiteboy.. are any of them uploaded anywhere? Unfortunately the last time I bought a CPU all my older MCM2 tracks were deleted.

ElDiablo (Paul)

http://www.mdxracing.com Try the search engine. I'm sure you can find most of his tracks or any others you might be looking for.  ;)

Wow this sounds cool...Is there a big difference in game with the bike heavier? Also any date on this?

thanks
rob

DirtTwister

The biggest difference is you have to ride the track.  You can't clear everything.

I've been delayed with some other investigations.  I need to get back to it.  Actually if I didn't bother with the bundle concept right now I could release it in about a week.  I'm not sure the bundle part is as important with the approach of MVA.

metal_miracle

Wow guys if you can make stuff like that happen I'm glad I found this site when I did....did you say snowmobiles?? Awesome has never been a good snowmobile racing game made to this day. I always thought if they made a sled racing game like MCM2 it would rock.  :o

Crashnburn11

there has been a snowmobile model for awhile you just couldnt replace all the stock bike just the custom one

Kazam

i don't want to spoil all the fun, but wouldn't the heavier bikes make bigger difference between keyboard racers and joystick?
i think it will make the GAP even bigger between the 2.

I think i was one of the fastest, if not the fastest racer on keyboard back in the day when i still played this game actively.
Able to keep up with MRMOTO and such players.

i hope i am wrong and it wouldn't make much of a difference, but we'll see :)
