The better the track looks via the textures the more fun it will be. So make it possible to use higher res track textures in d2 then simply make it when you export the track d2 put all kinds of labels on the file so people know it's a high res version, and then if creators can be bothered, just upload 2 versions with a low res and a high res. Theres already thousands of tracks to play, people aren't gonna complain if creators start knocking out a couple high res tracks their computers can't handle.

It's been my experience in business that it is extremely easy to say negative things.  It is completely unproductive and anybody can do it.  Now to provide positive constuctive criticism is a talent that is extremely useful and only a few have the talent to do it.

Nobody is saying that you can't express an opinion that is contrary to someone else.  In fact we encourage that kind of discussion.  Calling people names and other such things just isn't necessary.

I have read all of your posts on this new forum.  You make some good points, but it is completely buried by the negativism that it is wrapped in.  There also things called backhanded compliments which is negative criticism thinly disguised as a compliment.   I believe this is the mode that you tend to stay in, with a little bit of name calling thrown in for good measure.

Bruce

It's the people who find the positive in the negative who are worth my time. And as you can see, it's the people who dont, that dislike me and make chilidish comments about me.

Usually the people i call names are idiots in their purest form. Thats anger, not me being immature, where-as in the case of the people who use profanity to show they dislike me, are only doing that because they are to stupid to analize me appropriately.

It's seems as though, you, bruce, are the only one who has, and can do that. Strange huh.

If you took the time to understand every detail of my posts, and ponder why i might say the things i say. You may just find the answer to why i post such negative things. Maybe not though.

Here's a hint, "If everyone said everything was great all the time, like 98% of this forum does, when in truth it wasn't, nothing would change and nothing would get better, and if not that, then things would progress about a 3rd of what the progression rate could be".

I'm not using any stature to say anything.

Clearly nothing good can become of what i said in this topic. So all of a sudden you decide your going to try and make it worse by disagreeing with what i said. Thats me, the person who everyone loves to hate.

So since when did ole bruce become one for disagreeing with smartasses like myself? I dont think i could recall the last time i saw the bag bad dirttwister step into a topic just to try an prove someone wrong.

Quote from: AMA_DirtTwister on December 15, 2004, 09:02:46 AMI'm just commenting on your post as I would on any forum anywhere.  What you said is negative.  There is no arguing that.

My post was negative because there wasn't anything positive to say about what rideblue was doing. Except that he was trying to do something good for the people who make tracks for mtx and the people who like to download them. I didn't comment on that, obviously. I commented on his methods for how he was going about it, which, were negative, because there was nothing positive to say about the way he was doing it.

I'm translating your "user friendly" into simple, otherwise there is no meaning to the term "user friendly".  That term is like intuitive.  What is intuitive?  If a program does exactly what you expect it to then it's intuitive.  If the next user trys what they expect and it doesn't do it, then that same program isn't intuitive.  So my point is "user friendly" is an extremely subjective quality.  When using it you should be more specific as to what qualities you are looking for.

Sorry. I didn't realize zoneracing, central, and mcmfactory weren't "intuitive". That must be why so many people complain about how user-friendly, those sites weren't/aren't.

Clearly there has been a standard set for what a user-friendly track uploading site should be, and rideblues method for doing that clearly isn't up to that standard. He is in fact making a new standard for what a track uploading site should not be. And i have stated some of the main reasons why that is.

Blue is more than capable.  He is simply proviiding a simple service.

Bruce

Take a look at his website. Then see if you can say that again.

He's using his forum.  It's pretty simple to post a message and add an attachment. These is an easy way to gauge the interest.

There are good reasons why people dont just increase the allowable size for uploads on their attachment modded forums to do just that. You and i know why. Your using your social stature on this forum to show my reason for saying what i said was simply to be negative. Obviously thats not true if im explaining my reasons for saying what i did.

Quote from: AMA_DirtTwister on December 09, 2004, 07:20:34 AM
He's providing a service if you don't like it don't use it, but it's as easy as posting your reply here.  You can't get any easier than that.

Bruce

Gee i thought i had to use it or something because it simply existed, how wrong i was </sarcasm>. You can get easier than that: You can't summarize uploads in any sort of order, you can't, or at least rideblue can't summarize the uploads into a single page where users could easily view details and the link to the file.

Need i say more on the subject. Well i dont think so at least, because this is your forum and im in no place to contradict anything you've said. Please continue by all means.

Wehn they are only a few kb's its not a need for a php uploader.

The filesize of the files in question have nothing to do with it. Sorry alex. When you become a big bad web designer like me you can make comments like that, then instead of me doubting your ability as a web designer we can argue on whether your statement is true or not.

Your a web designer. Or lack thereof a better word for you.

*#*#* bean, your a prick... instead of saying thanks or cool, you gotta be a smart ass cause it isnt good enough, next time how bout you just keep your mouth shut because half the time people dont really care what you have to say.

If i said what everyone else said. Then i wouldn't get tools like you replying would i? And how sad that would be. The reason i dont say thanks or whatever false thing you can think of is a no brainer for why i dont, and im not going to explain why. If you dont get it now, you never will.

Quote from: Blodg on December 10, 2004, 10:04:25 AM
Half of the time?

Contradiction of the century. Again, im not going to explain why for this either. In fact im not going to explain why i say the things i say, period. If you dont get it, then there's no skin off my nose if you simply dislike me for what i say, because tools like you are what dont make the world go around, you slow it down with your bullshit.

ahh.. its probably not a good idea to mess with the internal settings if you dont know what your doing..

What are you trying to say? That 51 doesn't know what he's doing?

If he was smart, unlike you, then he would know not to mess with things he doesn't understand.

Looks mean colin.

Cr, i like the look of that, but thats about all i like about it. I think you spend to much time on the looks and not enough time on originality and something else which i dont know what to call it. Like umm, not enough jumps, rythem sections and difficulty sections to slow you down and make the track interesting sort of thing.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I think it's best we do it all on our own colin. That way at least we know it will go the way we want it. Give it some time and if we all decide on it we'll get a contest going one day in the future. When i say "we", you people should know who you are.
