My comments on the judging of the contest!!!

Ok first off,thanks to Dave for the contest.Second,Im not one to start up anything on the forums and this will be no different.And I am not whining about placing 8th or any crap like that either.I was not in this to win,just to have some fun.But here is what irks me. Judge 7!! You have got to be kidding me! Most of us waited patiently for the results and when we get them,we see Judge 7 and his comments...or lack of. Now I know everyones taste in a track is not the same,but most of the other judges at least wrote a complete sentence or took the time to at least explain there likes or dislikes.Here is an example from my entry from # 7: "Too many objects(makes track look cluttered)" At first I thought maybe it's just me but I looked at everyones reviews,heres more examples:"Looks good" or another "Tough as Nails" or yet another "Track is Huge" or lastly "Last corner is misleading"....I mean,if your going to make a negative or positve statement,explain why...thats what a JUDGE does.Maybe this judge felt rushed or maybe just not qualified...I dont know.But explaining likes or dislikes helps us as creators improve ourselves in the future. I'm not being a sore loser because all our tracks were winners in my book and I am not trying to attack you either(Hell,maybe we know each other from here)I'm  just saying that you could have given %100 instead of %10.I know its alot of tracks to judge and ride and all that but that comes with the job.I dont feel I am wrong here and I read EVERY review for EVERY expert track.And there was too many "No comments from judge "from others and # 7 as well.The contest was great and I had fun and I am grateful Dave and I hope you dont thake this post the wrong way,but this part of it kind of let me down.Reply if needed and remember I did not start this post to argue with anyone or single # 7 out,this is my opinion and hopefully some of the other creators see this point as well.I just feel that we waited so long for results and we get incomplete,unexplained quotes from # 7,thats all.

Very well done judges. Its nice to see people that ride 50 laps on a track give a good review which you would expect to be like 6 whole lines of webpage. But then you see some judges only giving 4 words in their review.   30 days!!!   only 50 laps per track....  if u think i am saying this because i am dissapointed in my finished result ?  6th spot ?   i am by far not dissapointed.  The thing i am dissapointed in is that a Judge should review the track and give creative input!  like on Oblivon SX   Judge #7 says after 30 days  and 50 laps; "Rough Track" thats it!  HE doesn;t even explain how he thought the track was, what he thought of dispmap quality, textures, overal feeling, theme, objects. Nope   just, "rough track"   


i expected more from the judges to be completely honest. Atleast a few lines of review  like Judge #2 and Judge #1


PS: OMG  i looked at all the other tracks and reviews and some people don;t even put a comment in!


What the hell do you guys think we upload a track to a freaking contest!
To hear what u think about it and to learn.  How can we learn from some judge that is to lame to enter a comment!!! This is just ridicolous (sp?) and unprofessional behaviour. If your not gonna put comments in then why be a judge at all. Make room for someone who has the determination to put down a good review!  This just pissed me off even more!

I was hoping it wouldn't come down to this, I just knew there would be things said about the judge comments, but what I didn't like about Sky's contest was I didnt hear what the judges thought, OK.. so I wanted to make sure in the VRT MdX Racing contest people could see the judge's comments, then I started getting the score's and comment's in from the carefully selected judges, I was like "oh no" but I posted them anyways, so judge's elaborated very well, some didn't, now these judges you speak of have been doing MCM since early mcm1 days, they are very respected mcm addicts, but maybe they can put what they want into words like others, something that comes to mind is how great at this is MK7Blutaco, man this guy should be given a degree in speach! He is awsome, but what I was looking at mostly is that the Scores stayed consistant across the board, now I know Tomato and Nemesis don't get along, and that's fine, but when I read how much Tomato talked about how good nem's track was, showed me how mature Tomato was in doing so, he was there to judge the quality of the tracks and not be the best at comments, (although he did do some great comments).

And remember this, the judges had their opinions (just like olympic judges and any other judge) and they went with how they felt, not knowing who any of the other judges were or there scores, there were 8 judges, and the track with the most points won! simple as that.

I am not mad and guys posting there thought's about the contest and how it was reviewed, the best thing about this whole thing is were are not getting shot at in Iraq, or being held hostage in Afganistan, we are all here to have fun!

Duly noted Dave.Please know that I was not trying to start up anything bad,I consider myself a non-troublemaker on the forums.I am very grateful for your contest and all these great new tracks to ride. It's not about anything said negative or positive about my track or anyone else's for that matter,it was about the lack of effort to express anything on that certain judges part.Bultaco should be strongly considered to be a judge should the need ever come up again. Again,dont take anything too personal here as this was not a personal attack on this particular judge,just a better job could have done on his part.With that said,again,thank you for everything and let's just shut up and ride these tracks....
