I heard on the radio this morning that they will be closing the Pontiac Silverdome after the 2006 Superbowl.  Which means that this may be the last SX race in Michigan until they find another place to hold the event.  I hope they move it to Ford Field or we may never have another SX in the great state of Michigan.  Other than Ford Field I don't know where they could hold it.  I don't think there is anywhere else that would be big enough.

They should move it to the Telstra Dome here in Melbourne Australia hehe which has a closeable roof, seats about 55,000 or they could use the MCG which holds 100,000, you could make a national in there lol.

I doubt that they will move it to Ford Field because it is a dome with natural turf.  I can't imagine them allowing them to haul a bunch of dirt and clay in there for anything.

Yeah we have the same problem with the Telstra Dome here which is real grass on a dirt layer only so thick, it has a carpark right underneath the grass of the stadium. They were going to actually use it for motorpsorts but had to many problems with the grass during the football season. So SX fans got screwed once again and they still use the POS Australian Tennis Open stadium for SX. Atleast theres another SX series here now run by different people that used the Olympic stadium last year, the track was over 40 seconds long which is not to bad.

Just get my Melbourne SX 2001 and see how small the track is lol.

What a great race!  Watching in the stadium was awesome.  The TV coverage just didn't do this race justice.  The hotel we stayed in happened to be the same hotel that Jeff Stanton and Ernesto Fonseca stayed at.  They chatted a little bit the morning of the race while eating breakfast right beside us and were talking about how one lined the track was.  And it really was which made it a hard track to pass on.  Although during practice they were doing a lot of triples that they didn't do in the heat races and main event.  So it must have been faster to roll and double or double, double, double those sections.  Overall it was a great race.  Reed looked really shakey in his heat and the first part of the main event.  But he really picked it up about 9 laps into the main event and was hauling.  You should have heard the crowd when Reed stuffed RC in the corner.  Everyone went nuts!  And his battle with K-Dub was great as well!  It's a shame that Reed had break problems in the first race and had a bad finish because he would be right there fighting for the championship if that hadn't happened.
