Knate?

Since i downloaded the new MXU nats and the new RES file, my mcm2 will not boot properly. I starts up to the black screen, but before any thing else shows, it brings me back to my desktop, with no mcm2 process in sight.

I did not back up the RES files, (didnt read the readme until AFTER i already unzipped them and wrote over the originals)

Could anybody help me solve this problem? Or send me the original RES files? Im going crazy with not being able to play the new nats. Are the RES files what the problem is or is it just some random thing?

Thank you.

You can load the original RES files from your CD.   There is a complete MCM 2 directory tree on the CD.

I would just redownload and install the RES files from TD.  The RES files contain new stuff and don't really affect the original MCM 2 tracks.  I would be suspicious that you didn't get a clean copy, of course you should get an error when you unzip them.

Are you sure it worked before you unzipped the new res files?

Yes, i played the MXU sx tracks many times. Then until i got all of the tracks and overwrote the RES files, mcm2 will not boot up. I have also tried to re-download and instal the new ones, and still nothing.

What would happen if someone just sent me the original files, and started over?

i would say that would be fine, it cant get any worse lol  :P
if it still isnt right then id just reinstal mcm2 from scratch, you have the option to save your tracks when you uninstal, just remove the MXU tracks and maybe load them one at a time to see when it goofs out.

Well....

I moved all of the tracks to a different folder. I also got rid of the Modified RES files, and the replaed those with the stock ones that somebody sent me. It is still not booting up, and the black screen is only on for like 3 seconds now. As for the disc, my disc is 2 1/2 hours away  :-[

It has never acted up on me before like this, and it couldnt have come at a worser time.... theres not such thing as an mcm2 virus is there  ;)

Just try a fresh reinstall of the game and see if it works, if it does, then download the new files again.
