How do you guys get any preload in MTX? I am sure it's not as good as MCM2, but I can hardly clear anything, the ai riders are killing me! how does the compression thing work?

ATR_RaTaX2

theres a compression button, holding this then releasing it when you about to take off allows you to jump alot further and higher

cR

Or lean backwards -> forwards

Better you shut up Myth or you can't make this island you want to do  :P

There's a preload gauge.  It might be an optional HUD thing.  I don't know.  You hold the button down, the gauge shows how much preload you have.   After you do it a few times you know how much to hold it to get the preload you want.

Ok, I have it setup like so(see pic below) but when i aproach the jump, i tilt backwards, as i hit the lip i tilt fwd (I do see the meter on lower right, and it is maxed) but I sue dont feel alot of preload, maybe I am just used to mcm preload.

ATR_RaTaX2

you have nothin for compression, compression is the best preload imo, you can jump so much further and higher. Hold before going off a jump then release when taking off, when applied correctly you will fly :)

AMA_DirtTwister

In MTX I always use the compress button.

ATR_RaTaX2

I am fast:P kinda gave up on the game, MCM2 is sooo much better imo

LastCall

Meistro you of all people shouldn't be on here talking about how fast someone else is.  :)
Just kidding.

hahahaha....don't think so!

AUS_Twisted

I'll blow all of you away, I have the "bestest" preload you could ever imagine! haha

Even though I dont even have the game, but using a button for preload sounds pretty crap.

DeezNutts

if u use that button u ucant lean forward, and u cant lean back to go thru the whoops and you'll crash and the bottom of hills.
DEEZ !

The way you had it set up Dave is exactly the same way that I have it set up and a LOT of the REALLY fast MTX guys as well. Button preload sux IMHO...and you'll never be truly fast in the game doing it that way. MTX is such a good game IMHO because you can only really be fast if you downside every landing and take the low lines. Last Call and I have had some pretty amazingly fun battles. He is a bit more smooth than I am...but we are very closely matched when I don't screw da pooch! lol

You're preload set up the way you've got it Dave SHOULD work exactly like MCM2 does. You don't need a button to preload...if you do it right you'll have all the preload you'll need. Once you get a fast bike and complete a career you'll be preloading a LOT less (unless you're trying to regain your rythm following a crash) and looking for the low lines. If you don't get a preload from pulling back and slamming the stick forward...then I would say that you've probably got it set up backwards. Try pulling back for the first setting and pushing forward for the second. You can check to see if you've got it right by entering any track and trying to do a wheelie by pulling back and tapping the gas. If it doesn't work...then it's probably backwards.

Hope that helps...if you have any other questions...just hit me up on MSN or send me an email. I've finished the game at least 20 times now and I've got some profiles made up with pro's that weren't in the original game...so if you need a quick profile (like LaRocco, Alessi, Bubba, Windham, RC, etc...) just let me know.
