starting help for gear skins?

been scouring the web for days trying to find any tutorial for making gear skins and the best i can find is for bike skins, followed the steps exactly but just on gear wireframes. tried to import to the skin packager and when i import the bmp absolutely nothing shows up

i'm not rly working with the skim packager but as far as i know it only accepts .bmp..

hmm, there are a few things that might be a problem:

1) For gear you first need to add a gear item to the list on the left habd side (for bikes they are already there) by selecting one of the gear type tabs just on right of the gear list.
  a) Then click on the Blue helmet button to add a gear item. You might need to change the gear type selection tab back and forth to enable the blue icon. Seems like there may be a bug there - it disables itself sometimes.
  b) Then select the gear item from the list you want to add a bmp to.
  c) Then press the open folder button just above the texture preview window - not the green button in the main toolbar.

2) If you did all that then it might be a format issue with the BMP, try using 24 or 32 bit if you weren't already.
