Hi, I'm working as a land surveyor and have access to some interesting terrain models like our local race track with a 5X5cm grid.
Have had some success converting these models too a gray scale picture for importing them, but I always get too short on the gradient level and it gets very blocky. Any ideas for how I could improve this?
Have tried some of the tools from the tutorials but they just seem to make the blocks rounded hehe.

Also a big part of this area is for gokarts, motard, and rally rcross with allot of asphalt. Haven't been able to recreate this inn any good way. Could it be possible to make a object instead of terrain of the asphalt big enough to ride on? So there won't be any dirt flying around when on this part of the track.

first: i dont really know what you mean but i think you're talking about the stair-steps in tracks.. usually you fix them with "Viewdispmap" or i think levveler can do it too.

second: just use the RGB map to "paint" asphalt on the track and make the softness map black where the asphalt is and when you are doing the zone maps (i think it's the 3rd zone) it's easy to turn off particles.

Thanks, has been fun playing around with this.
My English isn't anything I brag about, but you understood me hehe
I will try some more with leveler.
Is there some way to import a terrainmodel directly into earth works or spit out these images used for earth works?
Have someone else tried to recreate a real track?
