How do you go about downloading, a user's made track, than undress or unzip it and continue on too uploading it to steam?  Also kudos DIRT TWISTER, very cool thing you have here going, won't hesitate to donate $$$

JamieT

When you say uploading it to Steam, are you referring to the "Steam Workshop"?  If so, then it's not possible as Steam doesn't support user-made content for Reflex through their Workshop system.  The way you would go about playing user made tracks is as follows...

First of all you would need to set up Reflex to be compatible for user made tracks.  You would do this by downloading the Beta files DLC from here >> http://twisteddirt.com/wiki/ReflexTrackCompilerInstallation
Install the files by following the instructions.

Then you would download the track and place the 4 files that you extract from the zip into the Database folder.  That's it!  The names of the files you download will tell you which "slot" to select in game in order to play that track.  You can access them in game by going to free-ride event type.

Currently it isn't possible to race other people online with lap times, but you CAN free-ride with people online.  Choose Multiplayer > Private Session > Select Free Ride + Track.   Racing with lap times is being worked on.

it says I am missing a file so what do I do

mcm2boys

..how about letting us kow which file it says it is missing..  :)

Bryan304304

d3dx9_31.dll is missing it says

mcm2boys

That sounds like a problem with Reflex not the Beta track files, or are you trying to run the track compiler? Can you take us through the steps you take before you get this error message?

You don't need to run the Track compiler to get the Beta tracks to work, just copy the files as described by JamieT above, then run Reflex like you would normally.

Bryan304304

yes  I am trying to run the track compiler but when I click on it it a thing pops up and says I missing that file

JamieT

Hi Bryan,

As Laurie said, you don't need to use Track Compiler.  That was the old way to create new tracks.  Follow this link to download the latest version of the track editor... http://twisteddirt.com/smf/index.php/topic,3212.0.html

If you just want to play tracks, then all you need is the "Beta DLC files".  Check out this video for a full explanation of installing new tracks... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IB6Ou1pMhM

Hey Bryan

That file d3dx9_31.dll is part of DirectX from Microsoft and should be installed when you install DirectX. DirectX should be installed or updated when you install MX Reflex PC. So it sounds like an issue with your DirectX install. Does your Reflex run ok on the machine that you get this error on? Which version of Windows is installed?

You will need DirectX 10 or higher to get hold of the right file. Try downloading the latest DirectX from Microsoft and install that..

This is a link to the DX10 but if yu already have a later version of DX installed then it might not run..
