ok, i fell in LOVE with this browser, and now it seems that it has deleted ALL my BOOKMARKED pages, i have had hundreds and theyre pretty much irreplaceable, its insane, i dont have them ne more, they seem to have mysteriously disappeared..., pretty much pisses me off, SOO is there a way to fix this? to get them back? ne one of u mozilla freeks no how?

ps, seems on some sites i get pop-ups with it now too!!!!

Do you use Mozilla or Mozilla Firefox? If so then what release do you use? What did you do when they disappeared (example: installed a plug-in, skin or visited a site).

I highly recommend people to back bookmarks up on and off by going to "Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks... > File > Export..." Of course that won't help you now though. But for anyone else feeling worried about it.

As for the pop ups; could you link me to the site so I could have a look at it? If it is a real (non layer faked) popup then I will fill out a form and pass it on to the bugzilla crew who most likely will be able to fix that until the next upcoming release.

I bet he is using a differant profile and just doesnt realize it yet.
Change back to your normal profile and all your favs will be there, they dont just vanish by the way.

v_hoOk~

aight, i will try that, but how and where do i got to switch back to the profile??

and for the pop ups, i dont know the specific site, but ive had it happen about 5 times in the past month so far, just something i noticed, next time i get one, i will post it up with a link....

Firefox is being a pain right now. I just re-formated for the first time in my life (thanks micro*#*#* with your STUPID POS SP2!!!!) and downloaded the lastest Firefox. First time using it and BAM, get these weird sites popping up! They aren't like pop-ups they are like actuall sites! Every once in awhile they will just pop-up and theres five of them. Something to do with www.puppyboyz.com *#*#* is this *#*#*!?!? Bruce or anybody know how to pin point pop-ups?! I will just be surfing any site and it will do it. Something on my computer? Could it be that POS windows messenger? I un-installed that but maybe something slipped. So far I have only installed the basic programs.

Yepp audio manager
DAP (maybe the source?)
Zone alarm
Winamp (maybe the source?)
Kazaa LITE (older version)
Firefox
HP scanner and printer software (doubt its that)
AOL (its a long story! lol)

I forgot how much pure *#*#* comes on XP. I had to un-install about 20 little games, emusic crap, hot deals, some stupid movie editors, messenger,  and all sorts of things. Any ideas would be appreciated!!!

Bunny

hmm, go to control panel>administrative options>services.  Look for messenger on that list and swtich it to disable or manual.  Even though you reformatted, run spybot and adaware just in case.  Also, go to run and type in regedit and go over to the startup tab - disable any prgrams that you know you can safely do so.

I'm not sure what else to tell you - I'm not too good at diagnosing problems.

Hook, at top see tools? smack that then select change profile.
As for the SP2 issues, you guys must be a bit confused or something.
And the popups, look under tools "at top" see popup manager. Delete the sites that the Spyware added in there. First you need to run S&D or your favorite cleaner.

The SP2 issue is very big. I was over at a friends house the same night and she just downloaded SP2. All of a sudden she has the limited or no connectivity box popping up and cannot connect to the internet. I did a google search on it and came up with tons of pages of people asking *#*#* is going on. Maybe just for wireless internet it messes up?

As for Mozilla, its not the actuall site pop-ups it's something on my computer causing them. But I'm still gonna run Adaware like Bunny said. Only fix I can think of. I un-installed DAP and Zone Alarm.

As I said in the SP2 thread a while back I'm not getting such things, at least not when it first comes out. Microsoft pretty much uses the crowds as their beta testers. Those Service packs have also been known to f**k things up in the past too.

well, ive been there lookin around a million times, it seems i dont have that tab  :'(  but i noticed my homepage ( google ) is still the same....

Well I'm finally done setting up and getting micro*#*#* XPiss to run right. After I reformated and got everything back up and running *#*#* started hittin' the fan. Automatic updates didn't work and still doesn't for some unknown reason. I installed MCM2 and it was running like *#*#* and gliching left and right. A visit to the microsoft update site just came back with error after error. I decided to install the SP1 to see what that would do. Low and behold it *#*#*ed things up even worse. Now explorer.exe process was running at 99% CPU for no reason. I was out of options now and just said *#*#* it and downloaded SP2. Had to search for it since micro*#*#* doesn't like making things easy on their site. Finally installed it and it seems to actually be working now(knock on wood). With my luck the no connectivity problem will come back.

Hook I can't find a profile option on my Firefox either. Maybe the newer one doesn't have it. Try googleing it.

Dobe

lmao www.sp2.org  safety test for my auto-shop class *#*#*....

oh and mozilla is cool, and about bookmarks, is there anyway to save them on a disk or something? with out copying all of the urls, and pasting them into a word doc, and saving on disk or printing?

Hook I dont get why you cant see the profile manager, anyway you can find your profile by going to this location on your pc.
C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles  open up the .slt file and you will see all your settings including your Favorites.
You can then load all your favs at once.
You should always back up your links no matter what browser you are using.

You should also periodically clean out your Cach.trash folder.
