Im not sure if anyone on these boards lives near me or not,but I live in New York City.Sadly,I am "retiring" from MX racing this year for a few reasons.I broke my hand last summer racing last year and have developed arthritis in it,not to mention arthritis in my left hand from breaking that one a few years ago also.I can still ride, just cant race at a competitive level anymore, those braking bumps are murder on my hands.lol.Plus,I have other interests and hobbies.Soooo,I am selling my bike. Its a 2004 Kawasaki KX 250 F. It is in excellent condition, never abused, never crashed, never broken. It has the Pro-Circuit factory graphics,Renthal Fat Bars,SBF Pump cover. It also has the original green plastic(still new).It runs perfect and is perfect.
So,if anyone lives near me and is interested(I will deliver up to 150 miles),let me know. Here is a picture and you can get in touch with me thru here if needed.

You deffinitely know what makes a bike look good krazyman. I'd buy it if i lived near you in the same country, prefered 4 strokes over 2 strokes, and wasn't getting a 03 kx125 :D

VMX_krazyman821

ThanKX Nem! I LOVE 2 strokes as well and the 03 KX 125is a great bike.I had one of those also...but I traded it in for the KFX250.It was my second fav bike that I have owned. Here is a picture of my 03 KX 125 on the way to a race last year.

Ill save that image thankyou very much. Now i know how mine would look with those graphics, i was actually thinking of getting the shop to chuck some graphics on before i bought it. I reckon a factory style look pro-circuit pipe would complete the look though.

Could you tell me about the power and the suspension on it. The only kx 125 i've ever ridden was a 02 model that had the suspension softened up heaps and the gearing highered, so i dont really even know what to expect when i ride it. But from watching bubba ride his on t.v., i dont think it matters, ill just have to learn to adapt.

Do you know of anything that i should get for it that you swear by. For example, contact on the graphics or something, cause they might wear off real easy or something ya know.

Also i'd like to know what made you get the 4 banger? I was actually thinking about a 4 stroke 250 after riding mickyd's, but after watching bubba some more that changed my mind.

VMX_krazyman821

Here goes. Your names Ben right? Mines Noel. First off I started with a 91 KX 125,then a 01 KX and then I got the 03KX125 because it was completely redesigned.Man that bike was awesome. The power was pretty normal for a 2 stroke,it had decent low end and was REAL fast mid range to high.Suspension was perfect out of the crate, just a few clicker adjustments to my weight.Im 160 pounds,5'10''.I left the stock gearing alone. The only thing I would definately suggest is a Pro-Circuit exhaust.I did put one on later, that picture is from the first time riding it.You will need to change the bars,I use Renthal Fat Bars, for the money, they are great and strong.I got mine from DennisKirk.com for $56.99.I always us the CR High bend.It suits me fine.As far as rideability, the bike handles great, jumps great and is an all around GREAT bike. What made me get a four stroke? To be honest, the tracks I race at have alot of jumps out of corners and alot of turns and I was getting tired of "fanning" the clutch and trying to clear jumps while trying to keep it on the pipe.I never rode a four stroke until I bought this bike.I saw one race last year and it looked "easy" to ride.I was not dissapointed.I could not believe how easy it was to ride.First off,it's light and feels JUST LIKE A 125,I could lean that bike into a turn so easy. Its power feels like a 125,but broader with, instead of the hit that a 125 sneaks up onto you,the 250F has the power spread out evenly from low to high. It's almost too easy to ride at times and it inspires more confidence.I went from finishing in the top 20-25 riders to the top 10-15 and I even came in 5th once this year.Keep in mind that there are always 35-40 riders at the gate in my class. Its easy to ride,go fast,go slow, jump with,turn...etc.Dont get me wrong,Im not one of those guys who will bash 2-strokes.I love em' both,I just prefer four strokes.
As far as graphics go,as you can see,I am partial to Pro-Circuit. The factory bike look always looks cool and neater IMO. Overall, you will be happy with the 03 KX...If you liked mickyd's four stroke, then you will probably favor the four stroke if you had that instead. Both are great bikes, but the four stroke IMO is better all around. And Bubba could probably win on an 85. lol. Oh,and Bubba switched to a KX 250 F for the Glen Helen race and said he should have rode one from the beginning of the year if that helps you any. If you have any more questions just ask,you can add me to Messenger if you want to.Im under:         kxkrazyman821@earthlink.net
Hope this helps you out...good luck! ;D

Hehe, thanks for that noely, i added you on msn. And yes my name is Ben.

Im 137 pounds and about 5'9". From what i can tell, the kx125 is going to be just what i want in a bike. For  the extra's, ill most likely get are: black backgrounds for the num plate and side covers, contact on the shrouds, maybe pro taper bars, and then for the future ill most likely get a pro circuit pipe and black plastics for the side covers and rear mud guard, then ill probably get the splitfire graphics that mike brown rode with, in 01 i think it was, either them or the ones you've got right there. Also it will be good because you dont see many kawasaki's around my track region and being original is what makes you stand out, even if i ill probably only be doing practice days, it's still nice to look good out there.

I totally understand you about the 4 stroke. When i jumped on mickyd's it just felt like the easiest bike to ride in the world, and even if the fact may stand as you, and bubba, think the 4 stroke kwaka is the way to go, even if both your aims are to do better in races, i most likely wont be racing because of my injury, but if i was and did want to do good i would most likely go the 4 stroke, but at the moment i just find the 2 stroke so much more fun, i prefer power that just hits you rather than the power that makes the bike feel like a lounge chair.

Also the difference of a bit over 3 grand in the 2 bikes has a little to do with it; as the main reason for me getting a 03 kx125 instead of a later model, is that this one was imported very cheaply from canada to my local bike shop, so they knocked 3 grand off the original price :-D.

BTW, when i do get my bike and get a track setup on my 35 acres, then maybe get a little bit of practice in, me and mic will be having a "im faster than you" race. Mic thinks he's so top *#*#* cause he's been riding longer, pfff, i've been racing way longer, and you learn just little(lot) more racing than putting around on your own little setup. So ill keep you updated on that. Also i've decided to add a secondary race to the main one, it's a novice 2 stroke Vs 4 stroke race. Braaaaaaap.

VMX_krazyman821

Sounds good and sounds like your having fun.Good luck with the bike. 35 acres?? Im jealous! I have to drive almost 2 hours in any direction just to get to a track around here! What kind of injury did you take? I'll look out for you on Msn. Glad I could help!

I don't want to speak for ben but I'm going to anyway. lol  He told me that he has trouble with the cartlidge in his knee and hip.  They inserted the pins to relieve his pain from the joints.  So it wasn't a break.  It's in there permanent.

VMX_krazyman821

 :o  Damn!Permanent? Then again I say...HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!

almost seems like they made Ben the "lets see how much metal we can put into someone" experiment...that really seems like...WAY too much hardware for anything to actually work right in there. Your body rejects that kind of *#*#* so I can't honestly feel like that there promotes any healing whatsoever. Ben you ever look into other doctors opinions or nah? It's just sad to see that *#*#*.

VMX_SKYmx99

I say it's permanent, but I guess we need to wait on Ben to say that.  ;)

TMD_ NemesisX2

It is permanent, but it can come out if it needs to. And sky, it's just my hip joint, not my knee.

Fitty, you can't heal cartlidge. And no i haven't consulted any other Orthopedic Surgeons. My original surgeon said i could if i wanted to, but i felt to heartbroken to wanna get told the same thing by someone else: that i wouldn't be able to ride again.

But i've heard to many times that doctors tell people they'll never be able to ride again, for all sorts of injuries, yet they have lived to ride again, whether it be at a competitive level or not, im not sure, but something is always better than nothing, so im not going to complain either way.

Dad said he'll be positive about me getting the kx125, if we talk to my surgeon again and he says the same thing wont happen to the other hip, but in all honesty, i think he will just say the same thing as he did when i asked him about it the first time, that my cartlidge COULD start deteriorating in the other hip. However, the name of the disease that deteriorates my cartlidge is called "condrolisis" which means "uknown deterioration of cartlidge in the hip", so, in my mind, that means the cartlidge in my other hip could have simply been damaged by the crash i had where i fractured my hip, where it all started. Now cartlidge is weaker than bone, so i dont see why that couldn't have been the cause of the cartlidge getting messed up in my hip. So how could the exact same thing happen to the other hip? By doing jumps that are to dangerous for my level of skill, and riding a kx250 instead of an 85 or 125 which i wasn't used to, and not wearing any gear except for a helmet.

But somehow, i dont think ill be that stupid again, as the idea of riding again is to just take it easy and have fun. But basically right now im debating whether i should just use my cash to buy a pocket bike and get a new paddock bomb or whatever cause i just dont feel like talking a doctor who im 90% sure will tell me exactly what i dont wanna hear. I dont even want to think about it anymore, i was just having fun looking forward to getting a new bike and being able to go riding with my old racing mates.

Bunny

I say you go for it, consult that doctor if your dad insists on you doing so, but then just buy it afterwards.
