I don't know anything about routers lol. My whole internet setup confuses me. We have satelite internet that was installed by a company called digitalpath but I think the ISP or whatever is sunset.net. I can play MCM2 over the internet fine but I can't play other games like Call of Duty or Halo over the net. I'm pretty sure theres a router blocking everything. I don't know if it's the little black box on the line that runs to my computer or what. I can't find any info what-so-ever on how to configure it! It's really annoying. I have a firewall and it pops up asking for permission for the game to connect and I click yes and still no go.

So all I'm asking for is how to configure this damn router lol. I want to play online really bad. I tried typing the IP address in my browser and no configuration pops up. Anybody know anything? Any help would be really appreciated.

Well first off you dont need to run a software f/w when you have a router" hardware wall"
You need to run the setup for the router and from there you can forward ports for any app you need.
It should be something like this http://192.168.1.1   when the page pops up you will be asked for a user name and pass/ You will have to check router info for the default settings on that so you can get into setup.

Most of the time you just type "admin" and no password and you get in.

Are you sure that it isn't your firewall that is the problem? I couldn't play mcm2 befor over the internet, but after som work i found out that my router didn't block anything at default. And my firewall was the problem. As you say that you allow the game internet access doesn't nessasarly mean that it ports are allowed, i think lol. Because i had to both, allow the program and open the ports that it was using.

Hope that i was at any help :)
Shameless promotion :)

How do I find out what address I have to type in? I tried the one you gave and me and it didn't work lol but I think you where just using that as an example.

I've tried un-installing my firewall and still nothing. Thanks for all the help guys.

http://192.168.1.1   this link and leave   username blank  and for password  use "admin"

If you have a linksys router (blue and black box) then the control panel address should be http://192.168.1.1 as motoman said. Old linksys are 192.168.100.1 I believe.

D-link routers are usually 192.168.0.1, or 192.168.0.100

If you do have a linksys, the cp would look simiar to this HERE or if you have a new one, you can just go to the 'applications and gaming' tab. And there forward you ports.

D-link I believe have an option already set up to play on popular online gaming services, such as the zone. Just find it somewhere in the setup. If the service you want isnt pre-made, you can just manually forward the ports.

The port numbers for the zone are in the pic I linked, in box #3.

Linksys login is, leave username blank, and the pass is 'admin'
D-link login is, username: admin, leave password blank.

Those are the 2 most popular routers, but other ones are similar.

I tried all of those addresses you listed and still nothing. Just says connection timed out. I think I read somewhere that it is a Cisco router that digital path uses. Know anything about those? I can take a picture of the little black box that is hooked to the ethernet line if you want. Thanks ya.

Yea I've tried all of the IP's listed and still nothing. I guess I could send digitalpath an email. Thanks.
