wont let me play online games?

Im new with this game and whenever i try to join an online game it has a different reason y i cant everytime. wonr cd key, full (when its not), dont exist anymore (when it does) dont have the custom map ( i understand that) but i have never been able to actually join a game. what is going on???

I just found a patch for it but when i try to download the patch it says im missing files???

now its saying invalid cd key, but i also discovered if i make a game people can join it eventually

You usually get the invalid cd key message when you download the game from the internet somewhere.  The other messages could be due to your settings or it could be the host's settings.
