I had high hopes for this game when i picked it up almost a year ago... It turned out to pretty much be a flop :(  Its to bad they could not open up the code for MCM2 and MVA... I can only imagine the game you guys could build !  Hell they are giving away the game now for under 10 bucks.  and you can get MCM2 for next to nothing off ebay...  Dont mind my rant, im just thinking about how big MCM was back in the day.
Thanks

Evidently MVA isn't compatible with VISTA! I upgraded to Vista Business edition and had to do a full wipe of the HDD to get it done. Upon attempting to reinstall MVA (well the reinstall went fine) when I try to run the game I get mixed results. Sometimes I get flashes of the splash screens (intermixed with black screens) and when it gets to the actual game menu it's totally black and I can hear the menu effects if I move my mouse. Other times I can see the splash screens fine, it gets to the menu and I can see all that fine...can select my gear, bike, name, number...I can even go into the track selection screens (all menus seem to work) but when I try to launch a race it either hangs on the load screen (in which case I can see nothing but again can hear the menu effects when I move my mouse) OR it just goes black (and again I can hear the menu effects if I move the mouse). The editor SEEMS to work...I can put together a track and export it (I think) but when I try to test it...same thing.

What I THINK is happening is that VISTA upgrades DirectX to 10 and MVA won't run on DX10. Unfortunately (to my knowledge) it's not possible to roll back DX to 9.0c...so I guess MVA is OUT for me now. I'll be damned if I'm gonna reinstall XP just so I can play a game I rarely ever play anymore. I'm really liking VISTA...it figures that MVA would be the ONLY game that I own that would have problems!  ::)
