Nothing new ?
These videos are new for me, I have never saw how the bike is in game !
I'm sorry, I don't have consoles at home.

HaB Stealth0

thanks phill, i dont have it either. thanks for the vids :)

LosCyco

Wow I hope they fix the bike physics before they release it to the PC.

Kazam

yeh, in was hoping the bike would have more realistic movements. the way he goes trough turns nearly flat out and how he moves the bike in air don't look that good.

MTX was on the right tracks bike physics wise.

The Loz

Hahaha, I watched all those vids :D

How much does that guy suck? LOL!

Game looks good fun though...

Unbelievable.

you guys played MCM2 right? You need to realize what were getting is going to be  better than MCM2. Tho the physics might not be perfect, they are waaaay better than MCM2. Remember, we will be able to slide the rear end around and also move in the whoops. PLus, I think the rider reacts damn close to a real rider while he is in the air. We have to rember its a game. It can only get better from here.

I should've been more specific, I meant the way he was doing whips of tiny whoops.  You can't even manuvuer that well on a BMX bike let alone a 200lb mx bike.  To me it looks like the bikes are a lot lighter than the ones in mcm2.

Kazam

the way the bike moves in the whoops, should make you crash!  and the preload is just a worse as in MCM2. if this game rides exactly the same as MXU then i wont enjoy it much. But ofcourse will try to make some tracks

Garasaki

Yeah, it aint perfect, but it's a big step up from MCM2.

I hated MXU on the XBox, because of the physics (too floaty).  But ya know what?  The track design really played a big role in that.  Now, we'll have custom tracks tailored to the MVA physics that will help the bike ride more realistically.

You have to keep in mind that track design plays a HUGE role in how the bike rides.  The talented track makers we have have been able to make MCM2 play fairly realistically...think what they will be able to do with this new physics engines.

In short, great track creators can make a mediocore game seem good.  Think what great track makers can do with a good physics engine...

Guys they tweaked the physics engine from MXU to MVA...you can ride BOTH games and tell definate differences in the way the bike reacts in certain situations. It's POSSIBLE (but very difficult) to 'Bubba scrub'. You can also land mostly on the rear tire (gas pinned) and save a LOT of bad landings and when the bike flat-lands the rider reacts to it and in some situations landing too far on the front tire will send you over the bars. The bike BUCKS a lot more now and the FLOATY physics aren't the same anymore. PLUS, now you can double-preload (letting the 'cat' out of the bag!) and get more preload for huge jumps. Plus now the clutch works more effectively and you don't get penalyzed by the game for squaring off corners.

Play both games and you should notice a definate difference. It's probably just bike/rider settings that they tweaked...but it definately got 'better'.

Personally, I think it's the best MX game ever made. The only things that they screwed up are the obvious ones-

6 Players online (What the heck were they thinking?...probably the biggest boo-boo IMHO)
No skins? (Why step BACK from what we had in MCM2)
Custom Objects (probably not happening...Again...what the heck were they thinking?)

I think that just about ANYBODY who played MCM2 would have the same outlook...they got lazy at Rainbow, and forgot how they got where they are today and evidently forgot how to code a few key things that the OLD Rainbow guys had done way back when!

In any case...TD is here to save the day, so not to worry. We'll get things up to speed soon enough after it comes out. But IMHO the physics is the least of our worries. We're going to have a MUCH more realistic game to work with, with an editor that allows us to make tracks for the game. That alone should have the community wetting themselves! lol I for one cannot wait to get my greedy little hands on it and start making tracks!  ;D

no skins and custom objects?! that is so .. man love man?

oh well.. i lay my trust into TD :P

BPh

Thks, nice videos.
The bike sounds seems perfect, this rider don't ride well lol but it seems that will be our MCM3

MX45

Yeah Paul....that's right. Rainbow got lazy. But I guess there's some things youll never understand.   ::)

Seriously though, the game was made for consol with no intentions in the beggining of porting to PC. Had that been planned all along, certain things may have been done differently to include all those things that the game may lack. I know there may be some things that people will miss from mcm that mva might be missing. But there will also be things that are new and improved from mcm.
Think about what we had when mcm was fresh. Custom skins, thats it. Thanks to TD, mcm became what it is today. I'm sure they can and will do their best to improve mva just as much.
Personally, Im happy and excited to create tracks for mva. I think the physics are MUCH better than mcm, and tracks can be made to take advantage of that and level the playing feild for all users. There is such a drastic preload advantage with mcm based on what controller you use and other factors. I just can't wait to race online and spank all of you.  ;D Even though that'll last maybe a week before I get spanked by you mutants. And what is this double preload?

LOL...Looks like there's SOME things that I DO understand...you mean you WORK there and didn't know about the double preload? I can't remember where I heard about it come to think of it. It was either an IN GAME tip or I might have read it somewhere when I was looking up the codes. In any case...you just preload twice (real quick) and you'll get more air.  8)

I think this is going to work out great imo.I mean, the stock tracks in MCM2 caused you to overjump alot of them,to me at least. It only lasted because of user made tracks.I never played MXU but from Mikes video, the physics look exactly like what we have all wanted. When I make tracks for MCM2,I tailor them to the way the bike rides.I personally dont like the way the bikes rides stock tracks. So the way I see it,us trackmakers will have a field day making tracks and tailoring them to take advantage of the MVA physics.Yeah,it may suck to the guys who make skins and objects(something I dont do anyway)but it looks like we are getting what we all wanted for 6 years,it may be missing a few bells and whisltles to some, but MCM had NOTHING when it first came out and it would still be NOTHING if T.D. didnt do the magic that they did.And it would be NOTHING if it was not for ALL track creators, old and new.I think we should all be happy and look forward to this new release....I know I sure am!
