I saw a used copy of MX vs ATV Unleashed for sale the other day for like $9.95 so I may pick that one up for my son.  But I won't be buying Untamed until it is in that same price range if at all.

The reviews I have read said you would be better off buying MX vs ATV Unleashed.

I had an Xbox copy I finally decided to try on the 360 and 1080p HD TV.  Made the game look a whole lot better than the PS2 version I played when it came out- that was biggest problem playing the ps2 and regular TV is it just plain looked like crap. I played for a while but the game is dated and I'm spoiled I guess... Somebody needs to come out with a totally new and designed from the ground up game and stop building on a base that' so old it ain't funny anymore...

I agree completely Bob.  Hopefully it will happen soon.  It's been a long time since I have done any on-line racing or track creation.  I think it is going on 4 years now since the last time.   :(

Good thing we aren't holding our breath- waiting... That's one of the most important elements in my opinion is customization and not just changing the goggles or boots on the rider with the menu......I'm really tired of the cookie cutter games that have no talent or passion in the programming.

Hey guy's, I stumbled across this tonight.  Have you guys heard of this?  Any real possibility that it will be worth a darn?

I see Cam is involved.

Just wondering as I'm surprised if it is at all a real mod in progress, you guys at TD are not involved... and Cam is ;)

I have seen it over at MX HQ. From what i've read it seems to be a whole lot of new models and possibly a new set of physics - though the guys in the middle of the model updates don't seem to be totally on board with the physics update being part of the project. As usual with these things between the secrecy and the rumour mill, the mod seems to be taking on a life of it's own and it gets harder to know what the mod really is going to include, what is rumour and what is just everyones wish list.. but it looks like they're putting in a lot of work and some great stuff is being sneak previewed.

Is the Cameron mentioned the same as Kam?

RKipker

Hey there Laurie,

I agree, from what I read yesterday, hard to tell fact from wishlist items.  However, I have to at least give them credit for trying to develop a new twist.  I'm surprised they never tried contacting you, Bob, Bruce or Jeff and other TD members.

I assumed Cameron was Kam... Duh!

Great to hear from you, I know I pop in and out... sure miss the old days now that my son is in Dallas 24/7/365.  Would be great to chat with Bruce sometime.

Hey RK, how's it going?

It doesn't seem like they are trying to fix what is the most broken from my point of view and that's the online racing.   I can deal with the lag if collisions were turned off.  Nothing worse then playing with Team Speak and hearing how you took someone out that you were in front of in your game.

If they could break the 30 FPS lock then this game might be worth picking up again - for me.

mxcobra

I have to agree with Bruce... The online game play needs to be fixed !  Thats the back bone for any good game to get off the ground.  Case and point MCM2 the zone !  So easy to play online,  WAN or LAN ...

You would think almost 10 years later we would have a MUCH better game all the way around..

O well ...  I will keep waiting :)
Thanks

Heya Bruce, great to hear from ya!  Hope all is well.    Hello Bob and Cobra too.

Well guys, you know for me that's not a huge issue as I still can't play online due to freaking connection.  No Cable or DSL at my address, and I assure you every six months I inquire, even try bribing them.  The issue is I live on a dead end street with only 13 houses, and all wiring is underground.  This eliminates any good return on there investment, so the saga continues.

I would like to see better online racing though, better Menu Interface as well, and a little more realistic physics and graphics.  Anything utilizing today's technology would be a step up.  I once though Rob and 2XL would maybe take another shot by now to capture the MCM2 glory.

Anyway, here we are still same O same O > :(

Hey Randall,

What about going with a wireless provider like Alltel, Verizon or Sprint and an air card for Internet?  If you can get a true 3G connection I think it would be a possible solution.

I'm surprised that Robb and 2XL hasn't come out with a new MX game yet.  Actually I guess I'm more disappointed than I am surprised.

Nice to stop by and see some great people still hangin out. Still hoping a great multiplayer PC game comes around!

Bulldog

Glad to see you are still checking in as well!

I'm also hoping for a good game to come out.  And as much as I love PC gaming I have come to accept that console's are the future of gaming whether I like it or not.  I saw this one today.  Although it is no a MX game it looks pretty darn cool

Heya Pete, I too have been watching that one, as I love these type of games.  Motorstorm is a such type game but so limited to the specific circuit.  This seems like a similar approach with out the circuit limitations.  I wounder how the bikes will handle, my guess s very basic.

Will be watching this one.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like anyone will be making a new MX game for the PC any time soon.

The greatest thing would be if you programmers could revive MCM original to function on current operating systems. Would be amazing to run the old game engine with the old tracks we had endless hours of intense entertainment on. I imagine the frame rates would be exceeded, online racing would be pretty even for what was once the closest racing we ever experienced with then top end computers. What were they like P2-600 processor?

RKipker

Wow.... those were great times for Motocross lovers... and fathers and Sons...   ;)

I just loaded MCM1 on our Dell Inspiron B130 laptop.  It is by no means current hardware but MCM1 runs great on it with Windows XP SP3.  Every once in a while it will crash but that is no big deal as it doesn't happen very often.

Oh man, its wierd to see some of these names. Not sure if anyone remembers me, I started in the zone towards the end of MCM1 and the first couple years of MCM2. Its been a long long while for me, Im gathering what I need to get back into it again.
