Is there a way to change the grid resolution in the MVA editor?

DirtTwister

It' s in the first section when you pick between SX or National at the bottom.

Thanks, I was just messing with it.  Is the scale the same as MCM2?  Just if you know.  I'll figure it out prob.

DirtTwister

I believe it is, but I need to actually convert some tracks to decide.

I believe the default setting is a "6" which seems about the same as a "3" was in MCM2.  Of course the bike doesn't jump quite as far in MVA so it seems a little big to me for MVA (for a MCM2 conversion).  But then changing to a "5" seems a litttle small.  Hopefully we can get around the whole number grid sizes or it will make adjusting tracks a bit difficult.

How do you ugys get numbers? Mine is just a slider

no grid res in sx though huh?

Bulldog

Nope.  I'm assuming it is because of their pre-set stadiums and the fact that you can't scale objects.  If you made the grid-res larger or smaller for SX tracks the stadium you select would have to scale with it.

well then have you guys found a way to get rid of the stadiums in sx tracks like we used to do in mcm2? or do you guys have a scale so i can change my sx to national? cuz i tried but nothing is working and my sx track goes out of the stadium and thats not cool.

BC...the editor will automatically resize your maps...so one solution might be to just paste your map into a slightly bigger square in PS and either resize to 257 or just save and let the editor do it for you. I've tried both ways and I think it's a bit cleaner when you resize in PS.

That's true Paul.  But I I often have to tweak the grid res either larger or smaller to get the track to ride the way I want.  And in those cases this wouldn't work unless I need to make it smaller.  It would be nice if they add the ability to scale SX tracks and just have it scale the stadium with it.  Wishfull thinking thought I'm sure.

Yeah Pete in that case you'd have to make it as a national to be able to scale it unfortunately. If we can get custom objects working then maybe we could use custom stadiums to take care of some of that.
