Microsoft will "put the game back in Windows"
There might be a 4th competitor in the next-gen console marathon - the good old PC.

Not actualy a console, I agree.But a worthy opponent to PS3, Xbox360 and Nintendo Revolution, if we are to believe Microsoft group manager Chris Donohue who said: "We’re putting the 'game' back in Windows (...) We’re over the hump with Xbox 360 so now ready to build Windows as a platform".

Microsoft seems to realise that it has been killing PC gaming due to its lack of support for the platform.Furthermore they are launching a 18 month campaign where they will try to "put the game in Windows".

The company will promote cross-platform compatibility with peripherals that will work on both the Xbox 360 and the PC and game publishers jumping on the bandwagon to place the "Games for Windows" logo on PC games in much the same way as console games are currently branded.

So, the PC where it all began may not be dead yet.

That would be great news! Everyone remembers hating Microsoft (some still do) but the truth is we (PC gamers) wouldn't have anything without them, they got behind and helped bring out some of the best PC games of all time (and profited-I'm sure)  along with Direct X.  It's funny cause I still play M/S games & use a M/S mouse, keyboard, joystick & gamepad.

Why do you think the thing weighs like 50 pounds and is 50 times bigger than a playstation?

don't claim something you know nothing about. Guess what says 'microsoft' on an xbox. The case and the boot screen. Its equivalent to a PC from around 1995. So you're half right, but you can't compare it to any modern day pc.

Now before you go off on this, let me tell you that yes, an xbox can run pc apps, including windows. It has a processor, ram, hdd, video card etc. I see where you are comming up with you're assumptions but an xbox is FAR from a PC.

Now lets hope Moto is right and we don't just get a revamped minesweeper on WindowsBlingBling

It's a pc!  You just proved it.

Just to clearify, those are not my words, nor did I interpret them. This was a copy and paste quote I read from a Tech site. I just feel the need to post what might be important or interesting to the community here. Wheather this happens or not is out of my control.

we need a good MX game for PC and hopefully this would solve it

that means we go have MXU and MXvsATV for pc, with a good track editor to do nats and sx, with custom objects and sky like it is DilloToo97.2 ?

I was surprised to find out the XBOX360 has an APPLE processor.

Microsoft is feeling the pressure from none other than google.com. So it doesnt suprise me that they would want to re-expand their market back to the game industry. Time will tell.

Microsoft can hold their own, but google is moving up. 2 gig email, IM program, web hosting, and plans of making an OS.

google should make a O/S. Enough of Microsofts monopoly
