Have you guys seen this?

Google it, there are some reviews. It looks like they took mcm2 and stuck it in the phone.

Maybe, just maybe they are gearing up for a pc release?????   wishful thinking maybe.

check it out.

QuoteThank you Smiley

MVA2009 isn't out yet. Laurie has acces to a special section of the forum to which only the development team has acces to for beta testing.

Ahh, right on. Will be looking forward to it. In the mean time I will try to stay upright with MX Simulator  ;D

Messiah~

I have been lurking over in the other forums for a while watching the progress. Nice job on everything. You(and your teams) enhancements are incredible.

QuoteMake sure to grab the latest version of MVA2009 at MX-HQ. As I included a nHancer profile.

Is it out?? Don't see any links for it.

Quote(Should I get MX vs ATV?)

I personally REALLY like MX vs. ATV unleashed for the pc. It has its quirks, however I feel thats its better than MCM2. Its worth the 20 or 30 bucks they sell for now. Besides its a motocross game!! I have quite a few of them good or bad. I recently(on a whim) bought MX vs. ATV untamed for the Wii. Its a lot of fun. I feel that MVA(we call it) is the best out there right now.

Here are some thoughts here......

General Discussion / MVA vs. MCM2 (and others)
December 13, 2007, 01:30:10 AM
I just wanted to comment about my experiences playing these games back to back.  I have MVA, MCM2, Motocross Mania installed on my system. I've been going back and forth playing the games. I have to say that I like MVA the best. The motor sounds are awesome. The motor sounds are good in MCM2 as well, but MVA seems to "react" better in my opinion. I can't play MCM2 anymore. The rider is to rigid for me. I had some good times with that game, it had a great run but I think I would prefer MVA. Unfortunatley It doesnt have as many mods as MCM2 but I will take what I can get. I believe it's the best moto game out as of right now. MVA Untamed is a few steps backwards. The motor sounds are aweful. That is a big part of the game for me. As a matter of fact I turn the music down really low or off most of the time.  The frame rate thing REALLY sucks, but I guess I can live with it for now.

I also want to say thanks to TD for hanging in there through thick and right now THIN. ;D I check this sight everyday you guys have a KILLER team.

Looking forward to more moto games......

Fixer I totally agree with you. They actually went backwards in my opinion.

QuoteI've played the demo on the Xbox 360 and its just like the other MVA game (I still think MCM2 is better)

I played the demo as well. Its no where near MVA, its worse!

General Discussion MVA / Re: Rainbow Studios Track Contest

Wow,

Fixer and Bulldog, that was really harsh. I DO understand where you guys are coming from, and I am SURE there are many more that feel the same way. I sometimes feel the same way however there is that tiny bit of hope deep down inside that keeps me from throwing the towel in.
MVA might have not met everyones expectations. I don't think it was that bad of a let down, It can only get better from here, right. Lets hope.

For me seeing actual people from rainbow studios here and over a motocross gaming forums gives me that little bit of hope I have. They are here looking around, thats gotta be good for something. Maybe they will release it to pc after sales mellow out form the console version. Makes sense to me, after all they are trying to resurrect the code. The company that releases it for pc will be the most important. Beenox dropped the ball big time here. I don't want to drag this out. Lets try to be positive.

Rainbow, please give us a good motocross PC game!!

I think the track idea is a great idea, perhaps it will give others more hope for future(hint hint) projects.

Laurie,

Thanks for chiming in, I was hoping you would. I posted this at TD because I know you guys have been the pioneers for many AMAZING tools.

QuoteThis is something i have been trying to slowly work towards since i started writing the editor for mcm2. I keep getting distracted with other things like the trick editor but i finally feel like a lot of the pieces are falling into place.

The last few days I've been looking around at the other sites, looking at all the tools and so forth. I had the same thought. This is right under or noses. You and TD have created some killer apps and I believe you guys have the knowledge and expertise to get it done. I say this from a outside perspective. I know its a great deal of work. I would really like to be part of it. Im sure others would like to be part of it as well.

QuoteI'm afraid i'm not thinking about an open source approach.

Well, I was thinking the open source approach to interest people. You have a huge amount of time into coding your apps. I can understand you feelings on that.
It would be benificial to have releases for windows, mac linux, etc.. An open source would allow more coders to contribute, making it more robust.

Quoteit will definitely have tools for custom models makers and track makers to do their thing.

The anticipation is killing me already. LOL.

Thanks,

Brody

Hey peeps,

I know this is VERY abstract, however what about a open source motocross game.

I know this is a great deal of work and we are all very busy. It seems to me that we wont be getting any moto game anytime soon.
I know Laurie has some stuff he has built for MCM2 as well as MX vs. ATV(and is a freakin genius I might add). Benoit the developer of Motocross the Force, all the KILLER track and model makers(you know who you are) and I'm sure there is more genius lurking in these forums.
What if it was something "light" to get going on? Where if something was started it would mature as more and more people became attached. One track, one bike, etc...
The possibilities would be endless....
Producing the game and its components could be created in all open source software under a license we see fit. There are A LOT of really nice full featured apps to create the content. Did I mention they are free!!!
We could use commercial software as well.

The above people I mentioned, I'm not volunteering In anyway. I wanted to mention them for example.

This is a awesome community with a lot of love for gaming and most important MOTOCROSS! It would be remarkable If we could pull a nice moto game together.

What do you think?

Thanks,

Brody
