General Discussion MCM 2 / Hi, Need A Bit Of Help!
July 25, 2009, 05:08:47 PM
Wow, I haven't logged in here for 2 years  :o .

So, I've decided to install this game again, because of nostalgia. I got it installed well, in C:\MCM2 (I remember this from modding). Problem is, when I launch it, it fails to read my video card and runs on the lame Software Mode or something. No dialog box ever pops up. I've already tweaked the registries and tried all of the compatibility modes. When else can I do?

I got Windows Vista 64-bit, a Geforce 8500GT, and a quad core proccy (no need to be specific, I don't think).

Oh, another thing, what's the newest motocross game called? This is the only one I have now.

Wow :o . How do you make your tracks look so sharp?

Looks like fun. I gotta try it out. *downloads*

My tracks will have to wait a bit, because I don't get much time on them anymore, and I have school in the way. I think I'll upload one of them on Saturday.

Ok, thanks for the advice :) . I already changed the terrain texture and color for the first track to make it look less cartoony, and I'll find out what else I can do (I guess I'll look at a bunch of photographs or something).

Expect to hear from me again sometime soon. I think that, after a few fixes (or many fixes) , I'll upload my tracks :) .

Track Creators / Do These Look OK?
August 17, 2007, 05:04:47 PM
Ok, I've been working on a lot of tracks in the past few months, and I'm wondering if the quality of some of my Nationals tracks is reasonable. So, I'll post a few screenshots of a few of my projects here. Tell me if they look at least somewhat realistic. (the colors looked different in the game :-\ ... dunno what happened...)

Oh yeah... keep in mind that I used MicroSoft's Paint in the making of these tracks.

General Discussion MCM 2 / Re: Track Pic Error
July 20, 2007, 08:57:33 PM
Ok, thanks for the help :) . I'll probably get Gimp because I already bought MilkShape 3D and my parents don't want me to go on any crazy spending sprees  :-X . I'll also try D2 (hopefully, I'll be patient with the lag).

General Discussion MCM 2 / Track Pic Error
July 18, 2007, 11:03:34 PM
Is there any way that I can get or export a 16-bit .tga? All I have is MS Paint and TGAConverter. For my custom track, I tried using a normal .tga pic for the track ID pic (for the track selection screen), and it got messed up.

I hope that this is the correct forum to post in :/ .

Thanks :) .

It runs at 6 fps now :S . I only have about 150 objects, and they're mostly simple polygons.

I've even solved my previous problem with the exporting error :) . Yay!

Custom Objects / Re: Caaars!!!
June 07, 2007, 10:02:01 PM
OK, thanks :) .

Maybe someday when I'll be patient enough, I'll try to make a good car. For now, I'll stick with downloads.

OK, then, I'll play around with Dillo Too and see if I can make everything work. Thanks for the help, everyone. *inserts thumbs-up emote here* .

I wish there was a way to increase the frame rate, though. 3 FPS is quite hard to work with. Meh.

Custom Objects / Caaars!!!
June 04, 2007, 11:32:32 AM
Does anyone know where I can find custom and modern-looking cars to use in my tracks? I can't make decent-looking cars in MilkShape 3D, and the stock cars in MCM2 look a bit old, not to mention that there's a bug with them. They don't have to be animated cars, because all I want to do is fill a parking lot with lots of nice-looking cars :D .

Yeah, this will probably be one of my last questions >_< .
#12
Well, do I open the .prj or the .env file in Dillo Too?

Also, my custom objects don't seem to have errors. They work just fine in MCM2. I had one unexplainable error with my custom car, and I already deleted it.
#13
It was an access violation error (or something like that). I checked the log file, and it happened after the color maps were added.
#14
Yeah, I know that I ask a lot of questions, but this will probably be my last one before I'll be able to release my adventure freestyle world.
OK, it's 2 questions. Meh.
1. Why do I get an error every time I try to export a track with custom objects in D2? I already read some other topics, and I checked that the textures were the right size. All I wanted to do was add a "ride through" property to my custom plants.
2. Is it possible to add that property to an object without using DilloToo?
#15
OK, thanks for all the help.

Where can I download Fixer's track? I'm quite curious.

Custom Objects / Texture Matching?
May 14, 2007, 02:54:30 PM
I'm going to make an overpass object for my new city-based enduro. The problem: How can I make sure that the size, color, and texture of the object will match the size, color, and texture of the connecting road texture in my world? I want to keep the ambient lighting in Dillo at 60 (it takes place at night; how unusual :P ), and I don't want to go though the process of trial and error.

I'll try to get an example screenie up soon, to show what I mean.

This topic can be deleted. I fixed the problem myself. I forgot about changing the sun color.
#17
OK, I downloaded it, and i'll probably get it registered. What about .vue files, though?

Also, the vehicles still go through the bridges. I must be doing something wrong.
#18
OK, I fixed the problem. I made the vehicles go too fast, so they looped really fast.

New problem: Do the vehicles always orient themselves to the terrain? I wanted to make one travel across a bridge. I think I should get 3D max, but is there a way to do it using Dillo Too or anything else?

Sorry if I'm asking too many questions :P . I'm not good at Armadillo or any other program.
#19
I tried to make animated vehicles in Dillo Too (quite hard to do on my computer, as the program runs at 5 fps), and, after I draw the spline, the car moves around normally. However, when I export it into mcm2, the car just vibrates repetitively in one spot in the game. How can I fix this? (yeah, I'm an Armadillo and Dillo Too n00b. Lol.)
