Happy Birthday Twisted D.I.R.T.
August 01, 2014, 09:23:30 PM by DirtTwister in Other News.

Today marks 15 years since we first opened the Twisted D.I.R.T. website on 8/1/1999. It started as 5 guys getting together to learn to make tracks for Motocross Madness 1. Games and members have come and gone, but we are still here with the same goals. Those who were around at that time remember the Game Zone and the tremendous amount of tracks being made for MCM 1 at it's peak. Motocross Madness 2 continued that tradition.

We now have Reflex and the ability to make far better tracks. I look forward to seeing what people can do with Digital Earthworks.

MX Reflex Skin DLC Packager Released
July 18, 2014, 09:43:48 PM by DirtTwister in Utilities.

A great new utility for Reflex has been released. MCM2Boys has created a utility that lets you skin bikes, riders and more. It has been in beta, with the testing assistance of JVDL and JamieT. Thanks to everyone that helped.

Check it out in the MX Reflex Skin DLC Packager v0.9.5.1 thread in the Twisted DIRT forums and enjoy.

MX vs ATV Reflex PC Multi-Player back on line
October 08, 2013, 04:46:36 AM by DirtTwister in Other News.

Great news. MX vs ATV Reflex PC multi-player is back online.

Shortly before Nordic closed on purchasing THQ's assets the service hosting Reflex's Matchmaking went off line. There was no way to restore that function using the existing vendor. One of the first things Nordic did was to pursue a different solution for the PC version of Reflex.

On Monday it was made available to everyone. To celebrate they have reduced the price of Reflex by 80% until 10/14/2013. That means you can get the PC version of Reflex for an unbelievably low cost of $4.00.

Reflex Track Compiler Beta Released
May 15, 2011, 09:44:18 PM by DirtTwister in Other News.

We are releasing a beta copy of the Reflex Track Compiler. This is a free ride only (no objects, no spline) version. We figured it would be good to get it out into the community so that everyone that wants to can start learning how to make tracks for Reflex.

The compiler creates 8 different beta tracks and requires the Beta track DLC file to create the 8 slots. They show up in the Free Ride area like this:

Some pictures of track made with the compiler:

You can get more information in the forums. (Registrations are enabled). The thread with the compiler links and getting started info is Reflex compiler v1. The compiler can also be gotten from links in the wiki.

We have started a wiki, that is a work in progress and we will be updating with more information as we get it and as we have time. Feel free to contribute. You can e-mail me ( if you want to add something to the wiki.

It shouldn't be a big deal for people who are familiar with making tracks to get started. Over the next week I hope to have the wiki updated with some guidance on tools and more info for people with no experience at making tracks.

Making Tracks for Reflex
January 30, 2011, 07:55:46 PM by DirtTwister in .

We are still in the early stages of making tracks for Reflex. There is a lot of work to do and a lot of things to figure out. One of the experiments we've been doing is to put some disp maps in existing tracks. I put my Valley Ride into Lost Meadow and began experimenting with how Reflex applies Textures. It is done quite differently then in the past. The two videos below show some of what we are doing. In these I have marked up the textures in a way that I can try to make sure that we understand what is going on.

All MX vs ATV Reflex tracks in Free Ride
January 25, 2011, 01:45:07 AM by DirtTwister in .

I just wanted to post a little video of our progress on our way to the goal of making user made tracks for Reflex. One of the experiments needed was to add things via the DLC mechanism. We have a lot of details to work out, but one experiment was to put all the tracks in as Free Ride tracks. This is something that we will actually make available for download. We need to do some more testing and decide if there is anything else that we should include. Here is a small video showing my Free Ride list. We should be able to release something like this next weekend.

MX vs ATV Reflex Tracks and Track Maps
January 02, 2011, 01:56:36 PM by DirtTwister in .

Ever since MX vs ATV Reflex has been released for the PC, we have been exploring it. I really like the terrain deformation and I would love to make tracks for it. Twisted D.I.R.T. is doing what we can to try to make that happen.

In the mean time I have been taking a closer look at the tracks that come with the game. I decided that I would post info on each track. Over the next several weeks I will be putting up a track map for each track, what I think about the track, a lap around the track from my view point, and riding tips from Scawn7. The first two tracks are Lost Meadow and Stone Point Round 1.

While these tracks are old news to the console players, they are new to me and PC players.

1/7/2010 - Sugar Ridge MX and Manchester Round 1 track maps, track info, and riding tips have been posted. Also all Track Maps for the 10 National and 10 SX tracks have been posted.

1/14/2010 - Moto 448 and Fort Dodge Round 1 track info have been posted.

Also all Track Maps for the 10 National and 10 SX tracks have been posted.

The next two tracks will be Prairie Valley and Kingston Round 1.

I will be doing two tracks each week a National and an SX. I will be going in the same order as the MotoCareer. Thanks to everyone at Twisted D.I.R.T (keep up the hard work) and Scawn7 for contributing his time and sharing his tips. The track maps and info are at my site (
