Top Down Texture


The Top Down texture is what would normally be your rendered texture. This is what you see in the distance, but it can affect what you see close up.

In Reflex your really selected by using a texture called a MaskMapTexture Mask Map. Each change (R, G, B, and none) select 4 from four textures. We are calling the textures Overlay_Base, Overlay_R, Overlay_G, and Overlay_B. You can read more about it in the section on the MaskMapTexture Mask Map.

Supercross Top Down textures should be 1024 x 1024.
National Top Down textures should be 2048 x 2048.

When we have suggestions on the best way to create this texture we will put it here. For now you can create them like you are used to, but I would recommend not using a lot of shadows and keep them far more subtle and lit consistently (no high contrast shadows) then you may be used to doing.

I created a tool to help create the Topdown texture. It reads your Mask Map and dirt textures and then creates the topdown image.
