Hey all, please help me with this i am going crazy! lol....anyways i have been working on placing my objects in dillo too for the past two days...and i am only having a problem with 2 objects....the THQ Finishline gate thingie.....and SPODES cement stadium....and this is what happens when i go in game:

now when i go into dillotoo and place the objects...they are fine and dandy where i put them.....but when i go ingame they go crazy and turn up on their sides like that and the gate hangs in midair.  thank god i saved a backup of it before i bundled it.  and when i bundled it the .env file was still in the projects folder...when i bundle it isnt it supposed to automatically carry over into the teraform/sx folder?? and when i go in game the track pic says "track not available" and when i click race i can get in fine to the track tho just those 2 objects get messed up.  ummm i have the new dillo too installed and the mxu res files....should i put my regular res files back in and then try and bundle?? or what plz help lol.....

alrighty i will check back soon help is greatly appreciated....

Somehow the objects are getting rotated through 90 degrees, or they are rotated in the SLT file. If you send me one of the models i will take a look at it and see if i can work out the problem. Until then you could try rotating the objects (using the green arrows) until the objects are 180 degrees opposite to what you see in game, then they should come out alright.

ok thanks i will try that, rotating the models, but do you know why it wont bundle the ingame track picture when i click save it and bundle it....i have my tga file in the projects folder with 16bit and all that and it wont bundle the picture with it for some reason.

there is an error within the objects, i couldnt get the gate to work either if u look at previous post by me, most of the guys who make the thq reps have there very own gate for personnal use, dnt really know about the stadium how about trying another as ive never had that problem before,

yea i've had the same problem before with it not bundling the track picture right on my old machine and my new one....i still cant figure out why they are turning 90 degrees like that so i guess i will have to send you the files

mx333

nvm i tried flippign the start gate 90 degrees and it worked but the stadiums will prolly be almost impossible to get right so i think i will just place a diff stadium....but does anyone know why the track picture wont bundle up with the track?

Fixer

The objects sound like they were constucted in the wrong "view" or they turned the  pivot axis in max ...... If these are the only objects that do that for you. They could probably be repaired, I'd try to get ahold of the "author-creator"

On the track picture you have to be sure to "browse & select your saved track pic" - in Dillo Too for it to show up the first time you pack the track.

O ok thanks a bunch ;D....i have been searching in dillotoo for this search and browse thingie but i still am not getting it??? i dunno o well i think i might just use APM and Armadillo....dillotoo just seems like its too much work either that or i am just getting relaly frustrated with it.

can i use armadillo to do my disp map spline and then save and process the files in apm then finish and place my bails in dillotoo? or will that not work?

What search and browse thingie?

You take a snap shot (using the camera on the main menu bar - this opens the screen shot editor. Then there are buttons at the bottom to import your own screen shot if you want to - or you can adjust the snap you just took and then add a track title and logo if you want.

Yeah you can do all that in Dillo and then APM and then work in D2. But once you start work in D2 you can't go back to Dillo without losing the changes you made in D2. D2 if you are going to use it should be the last editor you use.

Laurie beat me to the answer :D but I'll go ahead and post this since I spent time typing it ;D

You can do it that way, once you get used to dillo 2 you really find the process is less frustrating and time consuming than armadillo & apm. One great feature I like is being able to make slight changes and "pack" them with slightly different names and go and test the version differences without saving more projects or moving files around. You should get whatever you plan on doing in Armadillo done first before you switch to dillo too. The track pic thing-- you just have to look for the "snap" button then import your picture from there.

I'd post you a screenshot but I'm having problems with DX on this system.

From the help file:
Add a screen shot

To add a screen shot first set the camera in the position that you want to take the screen shot, with the objects in the positions you want them in (the freeze frame button helps here). Then reduce the Dillo Too window size to it's smallest, this gives the best screen shot resolution.

Then press the SNAP button. You will be presented with a screen shot of the sceen which you can move around with the sliders until you like the picture. The visible area is the size of the finished image used in the game. You can also add your own title image and logo using the buttons at the bottom of the dialog box. These are placed in fixed positions at the moment.

When you are happy with the image press OK to add the image as your screen shot, or press cancel if you don't want to save the image.

You can also import or export your snapshot, and if your track is Waypoint race you can add screen shots for each race, although the waypoints won't be visible.

Pack the track to save the changes.

WOW u guys are awesome....i cant believe u guys helped me so quickly and put up iwth my crap lol sorry about acting so desperate i am just desperate to release this phoenix rep........thanks guys u are really good people

mx333

Hey i just wanted to let you guys know that i figured out the problem!!!! I went into armadillo and i imported the disp then did my spline, then i brought in my custom textures and then i placed just the stadiums and the THQ gate normally(not 90degrees back) that i was having problems with. I then saved my project and went into APM and processed the files...this is what made it work....i went into Dillotoo and i opened up the project file and the stadiums were already at the 90 degrees that they needed to be to show up right in the game! ;D ;D ;D i am super happy that i figured this out with your guys help! so once again thanks and i just wanted to let you know that i got everything figured out and that i will be releasing my 2005 a2 rep on factory in the next day or so.

thanks, ben
