Working on a logo...

Hey all, I'm working on a logo for my site, cR Creations. What ya think of this one sofar...

The logo ain't bad at all, it has potential. The main problem I can see is the very generic looks of it. Soft blue and a circle isn't something that confused people like I would remember for very long. Branding is touchy and shouldn't be stressed.
It doesn't awake a lot of emotions either. By saying emotions I don't talk about the Emo; "I want to cut myself in the artery while having some dark very super-mega 'sad' music playing in the background" kind of emotions...
A good brand can tell a lot of things about the company/site/whatever right away.

Putting the logo in another shape and color can right away change the impression you get:



... Now that was just a fugly example, no need to flame.

You could also try to simple have the text loosely floating in the 'air'. If you want to take it even further you could create a representative symbol and work it into the logo. But that's usually hard to get good looking and even if it does, it's just messy.


Now as I suspect, since you didn't ask for any tips, you're happy with it so far. I think I'd like it better if it had a stronger color that gives it a better impact.

@ DBR_Dodgy, actually I'm 17  18 was my first number I used in motocross, now I use it for basicly everything. And I might get cR18.net or something like that so it fits to the domain, and makes the logo look a bit less plain 

@ John, why didn't you give your opinion man!? Hehe wouldn't be to positive tho, since you can do something way better I'm sure 

@ MotoX395, I actually like that alot! I gave mine a new color befor I saw it tho, dark red, you can see it below with some basic templates for the site to.

Thnks for all the great comments guys I found a very good host (500MB, 15GB bandwich, unlimted databases, subdomains etc.) and I know the domain I'm gonna buy. I think ill have the basic site up and running in a week if everything goes as planned

yeah I agree on the plaines... it was just an example that I 'shwung' up in 2 minutes. I'm sure you could take it from there to something better if you want too.

You could try to add details here and there and it shouldn't look as plain but sometimes that just doesn't cut it. Experiment around I gues, I like your first logo in red.
