First off, thanks for all these new tracks and Res Files.... Completly restored my interest in mcm2, i thought it was totally dead for me now, now i have stuff to do, make tracks with the new trees and all that.... awesome, cant give enough ass kissen complements, cuz its just too great...

but im wondering... if u are going to release all the objects, stadiums and skies from the MXU nats and SX's....  cuz seriously, they are some of the best obs ive ever seen in a game of this genre, and it would be awesome of you shared with the rest of us  ;D and if u released them, i had an idea...

instead of just releaseing a crap load to clutter your folder, it would be cool to keep them organized, in either a giant " MXU OBJECT" folder, or if someone could seperate them into group types... like MXU_trucks, MXU_fences, MXU_blah blah blah....  all this being done by editing hte GROUPS.INI of course.... id be willing to help out with any of this stuff, if you want.... id think it would really bring back a lot of great creators.... and if u dont want to release, i will understand, cuz of all the work extracting/creating them....

Also, ive seen you guys have some mxu loading screens, which is awesome, which brings back up the subject of changing the skin of the main interface of mcm2, if there could be an editor, or a tutorial on how to change it, it doesnt seem all that hard, and once again, id be willing to help out with that in the ways i can....

and also, with the bike models, i cannot wait, and andrew is doing an awesome job!

and the new Dillo Too, awesome job laurie, great mind there, the new trees will surly be great when i get to them, nice work everyone.....

Thanks, your friendly neighborhood hoOk~

They are stored in .DAT files wich are located in the UI dir,

LOADBAJA.DAT
LOADNAT.DAT
LOADQUAR.DAT
LOADSX.DAT
LOADTAG.DAT
LOADEND.DAT

The file structure inside is like this,

Root
+ Loading this is a folder containing the .tga files
| |- BlueBar.tga the loading bar, 251x11 at 16 bit
| |- type.tga the fullscreen image, 640x480 at 16bit, pixels, type can be baja, national, quarry, supercross, tag or end
|- loadTYPE.dtm contains data on size, position etc., type can be BAJA, NATIONAL, QUARRY, SUPERCROSS, TAG or END

Sure, I'll take a shot at answering this.  I answered a similar question once before in another topic.

I doubt you will be able to use them, at least not for quite some time.  We can't/won't release all of Rainbow's objects in SLT format since that just wouldn't be right....but possibly we could make a "Super RES" file that had some of them in there.  We still would have to work out the details on this to see if it would work without causing problems....and none of this is going to start until after all the conversions are done, which is going to take a while.

So, I'm not really saying "NO" but just "maybe" and definitely not until all the conversions are finished.  Unlike MCM2, MXU has all of it's objects built into each track, so it's not like we even have them all finished yet.  We just make them as we go along...

ohh, i see i guess, well, it wouldnt be wrong if u released them, they released pretty much all mcm2 obs in the editor, but i see what you mean, id like see see more tracks too, thanks

But if TD released them it would be against the eula i think

Edit: Some guy in the GTA scene are converting Liberty City (gta3) to the Vice City engine.. they stated u MUST own GTA3 if you download it... that way it became 'legal'. Idea mebbe...?

well, i got the objects on my computer in a track, but i dont own the game, lol, what if i rented it, id have to delete the obs when i return the game :D

Yes, you would have to delete the objects when you returned the game. :D
Actually you never had the objects if they were only visable in a completed track that you can't edit or
take parts of and use in a different game or track.

I personnally think having all the new eco systems would be more than enough to make most people happy since most objects could be recreated from scratch with a lttle hard work. Having new sets of trees that behave like the original eco systems is a dream come true.

v_hoOk~

hell yeah man, i totally agree! im just saying, it would be total full on rough sex to get them all.... if u catch my sweet drift....

metal_miracle

i was so hoping for the objects..

sure i can replicate the objects but why when there are so good objects as that and its no fun replicating something that some other guy made thats better looking too..

you of all know there will allways be some that will just slap on a logo and claiming its they who made it but most of us will credit you for the work you have done..

last i want to thank you guys for the vegetation..

Well, all I can say is we'll see what we can do...it just may be a pretty long wait.  It's going to take a while to finish all of these conversions and the objects won't be done until that happens.  At that point we'll check it out.  What I don't know (or any of us at TD) is there a size limit to how big a RES file can be?  Can you imagine what all of this stuff combined with the MCM2 stuff would be?  We don't really like the idea of swapping stuff in and out because at no point should tracks based off the stock objects be rendered unplayable...just wait a few months and we'll see then.
