I just reformatted my hdd and all the visual basic programs that TD has made for MCM2 ask to insert disc.  They are missing a .cab file.  I thought I needed the vb6 runtime, but that didnt help.  Any one know what I need?  :)

What's it asking for?  The VB6 Runtime should be all it needs.   You might want to clean out your temp directory, it could have some junk that's messing up the install.

The installation file for APM "should" be everything it needs, but I'm not sure on your system.  Post some pics of the error messages.

That is the exact same message for both files.  I downloaded the vb6 runtime from MS website and still no luck.

The files that came with APM are:
     setup.lst
     setup

The files that came with Bikeswitcher are:
      setup.lst
      setup
      setup32
      Readme

Open up a command prompt.  Type the command "Set".  Look for the envronment variable "TEMP" and "TMP".  Whatever folder they point to, delete everything in them.

I don't know what tool you are using to unzip the file, but to be safe create a temporary folder.  Call it junk.  Put all the files in the zip into junk.  Run the setup from there.

Sorry guys, it was all my fault.  I didnt notice that there was another zip file in each zip that I downloaded.  So basically I just forgot to unzip most of it. lol  Why is it like that BTW?  :-\

There isn't another zip file.  In Bikeswitcher there is a CAB file that is used to contain all the files that setup.exe needs.  You are supposed to copy all those files to a temp directory.  If you use winzip you can run setup.exe and it will extract all the files for you.  The files in the CAB file you may or may not need.  The setup program knows what to do with them.

Here is the first line of BikeSwitcher's readme:

QuoteJust unzip to a temporary directory and run the setup file.

That's all you need to do.  The CAB file should be in the temp directory when you run setup.exe.

I unzipped them to a temp directory, but there WAS another zip file in there, that had  several files in it.  I didnt even have to install anything.  Just copy that into a new folder.  But it's all working now.  Thanks for the help.

It wasn't a zip file. It was a cab file and it's supposed to be there.  It is what setup.exe uses to retrieve files that your system needs.  You may have newer versions of some of the files so you don't want to copy them over what you have.  Setup.exe figures that out.  If you already have the required runtime files installed than the bikeswitcher.exe will work just fine.

Whey you download and install software don't go into the CAB file and get files from that.  You are only asking for problems.
