My MCM activity changes during peak work / travel / family activities and it'd be really great to have a list of the top tracks ever made.

There must be 40-50 really EXCPEPTIONAL tracks that I have never seen!  I think I've got all the "contest tracks" ever made, but there are a bunch of great ones - buried in a database somewhere that I have NEVER SEEN. 

Are there any websites with a ranking system?
If so, are there measures in place to prevent vote fraud?

If not, is there a way to add this feature to the TD message boards?  My first thought was to put an option on the PROFILE page for each user to create a list of there favorites... but that is NOT a very useful system...

Some of you code pro's must be able to figure something out?

We could do something like this.  Each TD forum member could have a place to put their Top 10 tracks.  We could then have a page that displays the results in different ways.  It would be even more useful if a link to download them was included.

In essence your 10 wouldn't have any ranking except on your list.  Your 10 would be an equal vote into the pool.  The ultimate top 50 ranking would be by the tracks that got the most votes.  Of course we would need to have each category of tracks.  I wouild prefer Nat, SX, and other or something along those lines.

Sounds interesting to me.  There is no voter fraud because you have to belong to this forum and you only get one vote.  If you change your vote you are changing it not adding to it.  The results would always be realtime.

I love that idea, I would like to see enduro tracks there as well, I love those tight winding through the tree's type, Bark buster etc. This would make a great data base for the "best tracks" link center (top 50 or so).

Only problem I would see is alot of the best creators may not post their tracks due to lack of info and lack of interest in the game, I would like to see where people could only submit someone else's tracks! example:

VRT_RIDEBLUE submits:
Supercross..
1)Twisted SX night   (with a link to the track)
2)Dominion
3)Advil SX   etc etc
National...
1)6 Minute mini   http://www.mdxracing.net/displayimage.php?album=4&pos=19
etc etc...

This way you wont have guys post there own tracks, just a thought..

Ya' know... I wish there were more Enduro / Hare Scramble / Joy Ride tracks!
Do you have a list of some more? 

I already have Bark Buster and Six Minute MINI... hehehe... and the MONSTER...

I guess the users PROFILE page would have to have a link to a "Top 10 Tracks" data entry section for each track type & fields for the track name and a field for a link & maybe a link should be a required field!  What good is a track if we can't go get it! 

Honestly, TD is the PERFECT forum for this!  Most of the forum members are here because they really love MCM and appreciate the FREE TRACKS or they make tracks themselves... who could be better to create a TOP 50 list?

Personaly, I would probably only look at the Nationals & Supercross - but if there are ENDURO type tracks among the Baja's that I've missed... this would give me a valuable resource to find the stuff I like!  Come to think of it, I might find some Quarries (stunts, freestyle) tracks that I have never seen as well!

I don't think I would require the link.  If 50 people vote on a track and 10 of them post a link and only two of them are different then I would want to display only 2 links.

I think it also would be ok for a creator to vote for his own tracks.  If I post my top 10 SX a couple of mine are going to be there.  It will only be one vote so it doesn't matter.

Sounds like a fun little application to me.

I just really WANT a link so I can go get the TOP 50 tracks!
Maybe w/ Kam's DVD's we will get them & a renewed interest in MCM2!

As far as allowing a creator to vote for his own tracks, I've been re-riding my own tracks lately and...  Guess what?  I LIKE 'EM!  I have a FEW tracks of my own that would make MY favorites list!

Sooooo.... got a guess on when we will see a test of this function?

I'm in the process of moving my server.  Once that's done I'll look into setting this up.  So it's probably about 6 weeks away.  I have a full download of MCM Central.

Don't know if there still up, if so TTM should have a list of basicly every track ever made for MCM2... just use that list and at vote buttons... well i make it sound easy and I know it's harder, but seems like a pretty good start to get that list...

The way that I plan to do it. I don't need a list.  Each user will get to put in the tracks they like.  When they look at the results they will be able to see if they entered the name wrong or not.   It's to your benefit to make sure that you enter it in correctly.  I will probably provide a way to list the current traciks in the category that you are entering.

Any list is obsolete as soon as you create it.

I liked the idea over at MCM2 Central where they had a list of "must have" tracks.  This was a great list of some quality tracks, sadly it was outdated and is no more anyway.

I like what you guys are trying to do and will be watching with interest.

I am really looking forward to this!  I don't think it would ever be out of date around here, since (I think) it will be mostly track creators ranking thier favorites.  That should make this list - the "REALLY must have tracks"...  I also look forward to clicking a user name and seeing what tracks a guy has listed as his personal MUST HAVE TRACKS!  Also, the way Bruce is thinking of setting this up, it doesn't have to be just a Top 50 list... it can be 50, 100, 200, 500, etc.

BTW - I'd like to suggest a column reflecting the total # of times each track is listed on the member lists.
