Hmmm.... I dunno how to explain this really.  I updated my gfx drivers today to the latest Nvidia drivers, 66.93.  The very 1st thing after I rebooted, I played a music cd, then I put in another one and my computer just shutdown all at once.  It kept trying to reboot but wouldnt.  So I took out the cd and it booted up just fine.  So dumb me, put the cd back in the drive and it did it again.  This is not a burnt CD I bought it at Walmart (Velvet Revolver BTW) .  It loads a video when you put it in the drive.  It crashes before this appears.  I am running a virus scan as we speak and so far have found nothing.  Is there a problem with the new Nvidia Drivers I need to know about?  What other suggestions do you have?

Thanks,

Sky

hold the shif key when putting in the cd so it dont autoload the cd content..

if this error continuses try pull out the   (best)   cabel form the cd-rom.. (this cabel can make alot of problems)

and try using winamp when playing music after cuz you just took out the best cabel

I was playing it in my cdr-w drive, I always do for some reason.  Does that matter?

ok, I just opened dillo and everything works fine except the disp map Flickers really bad.  I am thinking that the drivers are messed up.  Can I go back to my old ones somehow?

tw0_f0ur_

I also updated my nVidia driver recently because I reformatted my hard drive.  When I went into mcm2 the image that appears while loading remained on most of the screen.  To rollback your drivers go to the device manager, then display adapter(or equivalent) and right click on your video card and click properties.  In the properties window there will be a tab called drivers and after you select that tab hit the roll back drivers button.  Solved my problem.  Then I just found some older nVidia drivers because I didn't want to use the windows ones.  There are a ton of drivers at http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?id=10 they have official nVidia ones, leaked beta drivers and drivers optimized by enthusiasts.

ok, I found out the problem.  There is copyright protection on the disc.  It trys to load a program called mediamax and the driver is corrupt.  But I cant find a driver. lol
