Great job on the modelling and the  video.

It seems that NaN is the problem again. Jamie reminded me with his comments about comma's and decimal points that we had this problem before reading SLT files. The problem is that NL uses commas as decimal separators which means it doesn't read in the decimal numbers properly, leading to incorrect values and in this case Not a Number.

I need to take a look at the code again, probably this weekend, but until then you could try changing your language and/or keyboard settings to uk or us - just when you use the lib maker.

Nice tree model!

hey guys,
i'm getting the following error when trying to build the library.
the object is a simple box shape for double bales.
i made sure the scale is 1:1 ft and the surfaces are not inverted.

any ideas? thanks

JamieT

Kidzorro,

Remove the spaces in the file names of your textures.  And make sure they're a power of 2 size. 128, 256, 512... etc.

kidzorro

Simplifying the name of the textures totally worked. Now I know, thanks man ;)

Thanks TwizardT

I'll work with Jamie and see if we can't find out what the problem is..

mcm2boys

Found a couple of small improvements and there is a new version in the 1st post. The comma and decimal point was also fixed.

TwizardT

im sorry to say this but now when i try to make the folder for DE it says that the surface files have invalid values and that the folder couldn't be created

TwizardT

this is what ive put in in the library maker:

[ReflexLibraryList]
objects=1
libname=trees
[object_1]
Name=tree
Type=4
Surface=C:\Users\Tjeerd\Desktop\tree.surface
Collision=C:\Users\Tjeerd\Desktop\tree collision.surface
TextureDiffuse=C:\Users\Tjeerd\Desktop\tree1.bmp
AIAvoid=T
DriveOn=F
SoftCollision=F
InvertFaces=F
IsBale=F
PhysicsEnum=Static
SoundEnum=Logs

I should have mentioned that Jamie has made a new version of the Surface creator which had similar problems so you need to run your model through that first, then it should all work fine. Problem is differences in the way decimal numbers are read in in different countries, comma's and dots.

It should work on the new surface, and Filip42 you should do the same and your problem should be fixed.

TwizardT

thats the point it should be fixed but it isn't :(
i downloaded both the new versions and the only difference now is that i get a messege saying it wont work wether first it just didn't show up
and ive even tryed making the model all over again making it into surface and trying to make a folder, it still doesn't work

mcm2boys

Ok it is fixed now. I guess i need to stick to doing 1 thing at a time. The new version is available from the first post.

TwizardT

okayyy. its finally fixed now thanks soooooo much. :D

mcm2boys

Great, that's good to know - thanks for your patience. :)

TwizardT
