You guys have rainbow employee's telling you again and again that it's not possible to change the 30 fps thing, and even if it was, you wouldn't want to do it.

It's really looooooong past time to put the subject to rest.

30FPS shouldnt be an issue if your computer can keep it at a stedy 30 FPS without dipping then you WILL NOT benefit from a higher FPS.  Even those people getting lag but "claiming" to have a high end system sorry but i just do not believe you.  I AM running a 7800 with everything maxed in MX plus 4x AA and 8x AF and my frame doesnt dip bellow 30 at all and without chop.  Of course i have to use my keyboard to watch the FPS since having FRAPS ON and useing my controller causes a problem where my controller stops functioning till i turn fraps off (hopefully that is in this upcomming patch!)  There are so many more important issues out there with this game than complaining over a silly FPS boost that will get you nothing....again if you get lag at 30 your not going to get better by upping the fps limiter LOL.  Lets fix the max 6 player thing in online....lets fix the max 4 players online issue when you are useing the all vehicles option...if the 4 player issue is a problem with planes and choppers then GIVE THEM THEIR OWN CLASS, cause 4 and 6 player limits just seems to small on the PC.

I'm just curious...is there a 'no cd' patch on the way?

Apparently you are only half reading what has been said, Personnaly I get 30fps with no lag in the fps at any time. Tested with ati tool and my fps is a constant 30 fps with occasional spikes to 33 fps.

You wouldn't want more fps if you were getting lag.

You could benefit visually if your system can sustain higher FPS, the game will look and play smoother at a higher fps. If you can't tell the difference visually between 30 fps and 60fps then you wouldn't know what we are talking about.

No one here said that raising fps would get rid of lag, please reread what has been said.

It's the 30fps that looks choppy. If you don't see that then you should be fine ;)

This is just one of many issues people would like to see addressed.

The 30FPS seems to bother some more than others.  I have observed a similar thing with refresh rates on monitors.  Some people are fine with 60hz and see no flicker while others can't stand the flicker it drives them crazy and they have to have their monitors at 70hz.  We have one person at work that really needs to have it at 75hz or 85 hz.

With the 30FPS in a game I have to go out of my way to see any issues with it.  The only time it shows up for me is while going around a corner at top speed and looking off in the distance to the outside of the turn rather then looking where I'm going.    I also have to be riding with a view where you are behind the bike.  If I'm on the bike I just don't notice it at all.

Everybody's eyes are different.

I run my monitor at 85hz and can tell the difference between 75 and 85, 60hz is really bad on my eyes after awhile.

Some games on Dreamcast run at 30 FPS like MVA is a bit choppy to my eyes and it also affects the input I give the game from my control, while Daytona USA on DC runs at 60 FPS and that is probably the smoothest game I've ever seen play on any console, theres never any slight pauses just like when I run MCM2 offline at 85 FPS with vsync on.

I think there should be a option to lock the FPS at 30, 40, 50 and 60 FPS.

Jägermeister

I got 85 too. After playing the game about two hours my eyes hurt like hell. This has happened on a few nights but not with MCM2 or some other games.

RKipker

I've always seen the flicker at 60 hz... but I just want to see the game first...!

Hey Folks... Looks like I picked a great time to maybe get back into online MX.
