I personally don't care about custom bike and rider skins or custom objects.  I never made any for MCM2 because I'm no good at it and I never downloaded any custom skins because I just don't care that much what my rider and bike look like.  Which meant that I didn't see anyone elses custom skin when playing on line.  On the other hand I'm very happy to be getting a MX game with physics that are light years ahead of MCM2.  For me it's all about the terrain and racing.  And MVA should make for some great technical tracks being created by the community.  Which makes me a happy camper.

you could not care if they used terrain tex whit a size of 460x460?  cuz its all about the physics?

i as many others want  freedom to use what ever bike or gear we like not having limitations forced on us

i can name a lot of games that have fallen flat on their faces becouse of limitations

edgar torronteras
motox 2000

You act as if its your God given right to be able to modify everything in a game and twist the coding around to what you want. If you want to be able to do that then build the programs to do it don't slam companies for not providing it. It's not their responsibility to have to provide these sorts of things. 3/4's of the stuff out for MCM2 was never out until guy's like TD's and other groups made them. Then you go on to say those games fell flat on their faces because of that? No they fell flat because the just plain out sucked ass compared to the Rainbow games. I just find it amusing that you guy's are getting so ripped up over this game before it even has been released. Bitching about this and that and you don't even know if you like it or what things need to be done for it. My point is wait until its out and play the game. Hell MCM2 wasn't perfect at all. Remember the patches that where never released? I can set here and type bad things all day about MCM2 but it does no good and plus the fact that a lot of things where cured or taken care of from these guy's here. We already know that the game is going to be pretty much the same as Mcm2 because Bruce and the Boy's have brought us the bikes and tracks over from the Unleashed series. So that's a closed issue. Then we have a new Editor coming which will be a more polished program which I'd say will be more user friendly to the community and that will bring in more people. *#*#* tracks or not we will see more. All in all I looking forward to this game I played the hell out of it on the Xbox and didn't mind the tracks at all but to think we will be able to make smaller more technical tracks to our liking is the big thing and that will propel this game into the next few years for us. Plus think of the new arguments and fights to come in the forums abusing one another.  :P

:) okey but whit what i said i was expressing my hopes that it would not fall into the same ditches as the other games.

if it wasn't for the fact that you could make skins and tracks on mcm2 "many" like me would never have use a PC more that just surf the net it open up alot for us whit mx interest..

whit that said  i am still looking very much forward to getting mxvsatv

I wasn't trying to crack on you M&M I was just saying lets wait until we get the game out and see what we got and then we can go from there. I'll bet Aunt Nanny's farm that before the year is up someone will have a program just for skins out so you can enjoy your artform of making skins. I for one hope so because you guy's are just as much apart of the community as the track builders and object makers. I for one hope we can have custom objects for it because they make tracks feel so much more personalized with them.
Mike

I hope I didn't step on anyone's toes just making a few statements on the observations I read over the past few weeks.

I don't believe I said anything about terrain texture sizes.  And I think you missed my point.  My point was that I don't think very many people (if anyone) actually purchased mcm2 ONLY because they could make custom skins and objects.  I'm pretty sure most people purchased the game simply because they love Motocross.  And what we will be getting is a much better MX/SX racing experience.  But as Mike said....just wait and see what the game is really like and give Bruce, Jeff and Laurie a little time to see what they can do to fill in the gaps.

i think i know what you mean
but my point is that we can just look at the physics alone since the
comunity consist of so many diffrent type creators...

i am looking at the whole package what we got and try to look at what we seem to get...

if you think about it mcm2 is covering a very big range of graphics artist and riding preference. so for an upcoming game thats huge gap to fill

I see what you mean M/M.  But most of the stuff we enjoy in MCM2 were add-ons.  Was custom objects always doable?  Or was that an add on too.

VMX_Slowpoke2

i think it came with it if i wasn't mistaken... but no where near what we have today... correct me if i'm wrong

The only objects we had where the ones in the game itself to use. Until guy's like tk-fears and cdog made some and gave them to me to use. I don't remember who made the skins program to see the model but you could do the skins right in PS but you had to go back and forth to the game to see what you did which was a pain in the arse.

DirtTwister

The updated version of Armadillo allowed custom objects.  MCM 2 would blow up when you exited the track if you had more than one copy of the same custom object.  That's what caused the birth of MOA and then APM to convert your multple custom objects into separate instances of objects.

How many people remember having to edit the SCN file by hand and then setting it to read only so Armadillo woudn't screw it up?

Bruce

VMX_SKYmx99

Me!  I never could get that to work right. lol

Fixer

I remember adding over 200 objects to a track this way, what a pain in the rear ::), right after that Jeff came out with  "MOA". :)

And to that we say "thank you"!!
I remember putting in about 215 objects and it would lock me out of the project then I would either have to release it as it was or redo the whole damn thing. I've said it 50 times and I'll say it again I have been really appreciative to all the work you guy's have put into this game and the programs that have extended its life. Without your dedication it would have died along time ago. These creators now have no clue how easy it is to make these awesome tracks compared to all of the bull*#*#* lockups and crashed projects we dealt with.

Ahh yes!!! Hook,Tobz,Bommy,King, and the others.. ;D  I'm getting the itch once again to make tracks so maybe this game will get me motivated. Man, I don't know if I can hang with these guys now they are putting out art thats really impressive stuff to say the least. If any of you kids are reading this take this seriously. You guy's are working with programs that the companies are using and this will get you a foot in the door just ask Guy's like Diablo, Mike, and the others fortunate to get in.
Mike

VMX_krazyman821

You can do it Mike, you are one of the leading trackmakers for MCM2. I know I cant hang with some of the trackmakers but my tracks have held their own.I hope you do come back though,Outdoor National and Budds Creek will always be at the top for me.It would nice be to see what the earlier and newer creators will do with this game.I'm ready for it.

Mike,  I always thought your tracks were too good for MCM 2.  What I mean by that is that the MCM 2 bike could not ride your tracks they way that it should be able to.  The MCM 2 bike wasn't capable of taking advantage of what your tracks offered.

I'm hoping that you re-make some for MVA so that we can see what it's like with a bike that rides bumps better and slips in the turns.
