I got the same answer from them.  I don't think they understand the whole online aspect of the game.

We may be able to add skins to the game, but I doubt it would display for the other riders.  That's why it's important for it to be built into the game.

We'll have to wait and see.

do they just sit in a coocoon there in pheonix?

its like they dont get it, most nearlly all worth while games are able to change skins and stuff, i really think they have taken a step BACKWARDS from MCM2 and we havent even played it yet.

Man this sucks... Let's hope Bruce is right...

Yes, this is disappointing news. But in the overall scheme of things, it's a relatively small problem in my opinion. First, I am just happy that Rainbow/THQ is even making this available on the PC. Second, they are giving us a track editor. Tracks are more important to me than skins. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy making and using custom skins too. Third, like many have already said, I'm sure someone will find a way to make custom skins work.

There are ALOT of guys that find skins more important... it sucks for them,... and for people like me who like the custom made crisp skins.. :(

VMX_D-Dub

Exactly CR, th only reason I play mcm2 anymore is because of the skins I create.

well maybe they'll have it where we can edit the names of the skins with-in the game.... who knows kinda dissapointing tho

This all seems like a rushed conversion to me after hearing about no custom skins and only 6 player races. If they want it to sell good on PC, taking away features we allready have in MCM2 wont help.

The sad truth is they know lots of people will buy it anyways... To be fair though, it is just a console port, and I think the fact that we have any kind of editing abilities at all is just awesome. :)

In MCM2 online could you see other people's bike & rider skins? I didn't think you could, and I'm sure with some hacking of the res files you could replace the skins in singleplayer...

Of course if this was a brand new MCM game specifically for PC then the omissions would be unforgivable...

Yes you could see others skins in MCM 2.  The only limitation was that you had to have a copy of the same skin and it had to be the  same name.  I like when games like Combat Flight Simulator 2 actually send the model and skin to you.  I believe MX Mania did that also.

To tell you the truth im over the fact we cant use custom skins.

I'm sure in the future we will be able to. Plus I mean it's only 30 bucks, if it was 50 I would be alittle more mad  :)

Ah yes, I thought it was something like that. I know most multiplayer PC games will do that now, particularly FPS where they will even send you the map if you don't have it... Consoles are lazy though.
