Ok this question comes up time and time again when a new creator is born.

so heres a sticky to help.

without going through the history of "why" heres a what to do.

The game needs to be installed directctly to your main drive.

standard instal looks like.                                              C:\programfiles\microsoftgames\motocrossmadness2\trackeditor

correct instal for custom objects to work looks like.          C:\MCM2\TrackEditor

hope this helps.  :D

note- you have to install it there. Moving the files won't work.

next thing you need to know is you need to use APM

and/or Dillo Too

Do I need to re-install motocross madness 2 there, aswell as armadillo track editor?

I "moved" the files from the default position, into the new one, and this was some time ago, but now I just read it needs to be INSTALLED, and not moved. So do I have to re-install MCM2 aswell as the track editor?

The reason for the re-install is to update the registry.
The reason for the name change of the directory is either because Dillo doesn't like the the length of the file names or more likely doesn't like the space in the path (ie c:\Program Files\....).

When we first started out I doing objects I didn't have this problem because I had installed MCM 2 in G:\MCM2.  It took a while to figure out what was common among the people that could make it work.

I think this Guitar guy above is on drugs, his posts are as off topic as you can possibly get... looks like spam :p

I uninstalled and reinstalled in C:\MCM2\ and installed the Track Editor in the MCM2 folder, but custom objects still aren't working for me. Should I just uninstall, delete all custom files, and start from ground zero?

You should take a look at the APM help page linked here: http://www.jeffstrackfiles.com/mcm2files/utils/apm/ArmadilloProjectManager_Help.html

You will need it to compile tracks with custom objects since Dillo didn't do a great job of it by itself..

Yeah, I finally got the custom objects in Armadillo. However, when I run it, it erases every object besides the track and when I start a race, the riders get shot back and make that bomb dropping noise like when you go too far on the edge. Are there any settings I need to specify in the Armadillo Project Manager?

Thanks! I figured it out. You have to have Armadillo and APM running at the same time.
