Hello and thanks in advance for the help!

I've looked literally everywhere and can't find an answer for the issues that I'm encountering.   I have found others with the same problem, just no answers and nothing I have done is helping.

My issue is this... When starting Reflex, the menu screen does not display anything.  Furthermore, there is no HUD when I do play.  I can see the lights with dust and black lower half of the screen at start up.  I can even blindly "enter" my way into a game and run the game on the highest settings with no lag or control issues.  I just can't see any type of menus or information.  While it is good fun to ride around guess blindly as to which mode I've selected, I'd really like to see the menu.

I've tried... All different graphic settings.  Updated all my drivers.  Re-installed the game twice.  Tried every little bit of info from this and the Steam forums.  Done a rain dance.  ::)

Here are the specs I'm working with...
Windows 7 64bit
Intel 3.3Ghz
8GB RAM
Raedon HD 6670

Again, thanks a million in advance for any guidance!

if you are racing in-game there is this menu around the screen do you see that? if you don't you need to go to options and click show hud. if you don't even see option menu then i don't know how to fix it sorry

BlindWatson

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately no, it's not as simple as that.  I can not see any menu/HUD at any point during the game.  I believe it to be a driver/software issue that is causing the issue and I haven't been able to troubleshoot by myself.  I'm hoping someone here has had the same issue and may be able to provide some guidance.

Ultimately, I'm want to clearly resolve the issue so others after me can use my toils to solve their own problems.

I have seen something similar a while back but for the life of me can't remember what caused it. Did it used to work at any time before? Is this your first install on this computer, or was there an exisitng SaveGame.bxml before you installed or the problem started? Do you have any custom packages installed, custom tracks, custom skins? Have you tried resetting all the MXsettings fields to default or their lowest values?

Deleting the SaveGame.bxml might help - but you will loose all progress in the game and other settings (Use JamieT's 15 Million SaveGame.bxml fiix to open everything up again).

That's all i got so far..

BlindWatson

First install.

Just tried the 15 million savegame.bmxl and had no results.

I'll keep digging, thanks for the help though!

So when you startup you see the lobby area compound, squeezed into the top 1/2 of the screen and the bottom 1/2 of the screen is all black? Is that right?

Can you show us a screen shot? Have you tried messing with the number of processors available to the game - cut it to 1 or 2 just to see what happens?

What type of cpu is it, - intel xx?

Are you installing from Steam, disk or some other source because it sounds a lot like one or more of the files are corrupt or missing.

BlindWatson

Processor is Intel Core blah blah.  I installed directly from steam.

Here's a screen capture of start up -

Here's me managing to get into a supercross multi-player game by blindly "entering" through the menu -

As indicated in another forum, I "verified integrity of game cache".  The report says I have one corrupt files and that it "will be acquired".  Kind of hit a brick wall with this one as I'm not sure if it auto-updates or I need to do something to make it happen...

Again, thank you so incredibly much for helping a total newbie with this issue!!!

That's what i thoight it would look like..

Fixer

I would try different graphic driver versions, starting with more recent ones and working back towards when the game was released.

I recently had to revert way back on drivers for XP to play MCM2, I was getting tears but maybe the same concept might help you, it's like they stop supporting certain games.

before I found working drivers every version made after that had the same problem

BlindWatson

Just wanted to update by saying that as far as I can tell, Fixer is correct.  It's the drivers for the graphic card that are causing the issue.  The in-game graphics have been updated/supported with new versions to suit new graphics cards, but certain menu's are not.  This would help explain why in-game graphics are top notch and only a select few of the menu graphics(rider/bike) work but other non-graphic intensive menus(type of race/location) do not display at all.

I've been questing for older versions of the graphic drivers but have found nothing thus far.  I'm definitely going to keep looking.  I'm also going to keep blindly entering through the menu into multi-player games as I wrote down which key strokes it takes to get into this type of game - Weeeeeeeee!

Thanks again for the guidance from this forum, ya'll have been astoundingly helpful. Hopefully others in my shoes will find this thread helpful and use it to trouble shoot.
