ahahhaa lol, doesnt matter if you do it once aweek, just do it frequently or something, it takes like 10 minutes to scan for both of them  ;)

I use Adaware and Spybot EVERY night. They really work great. If you didnt get them yet:

like i said huh dave "see ui got the love for firefox simon MUHAHAHAHA"

mhm, I didn't understamd that really but my point was simple...

If you use firefox you won't get any more adwares...ever... unless you use things such as kazaa on a daily bases... but no matter how much bogus "omg omg haxxor rulez yayz for warez !!!1!!!oneone!111" sites you surf on to nothing will ever happen, you will allways sit safe behind a bomb shelter. IE alows them to install things to your computer without basicaly ever giving you a clue (and it allso alows pop ups but thats another story). that isn't alowed by mozilla so they can't.

Read my mozilla.org redesign thread for more info about that tough...

I haven't had any pop ups, adwares or any other kinds of *#*#* on my computer since 1 and a half years ago all thanks to firebird or as it now is called, firefox.
I have done a scan for them with loads of recommended software (most of the ones mentioned here) about each quarter and never have I had a adware or similair...
Yet I'm not a "safe browser"... if I see a link I click it, I like to explore new websites but I've never been whe one thinking about what kind of evil person may be behind the site I am about to enter. So what I want to have said is that firefox works... if you don't want to scan and remove adwares all the time then try it atleast. :)

Thats so true, i hate Internet Explorer, it gives me tons of pop-ups for some reason!
Then I tried Firefox and it works so nicely and it works even faster!
so, i recommend trying firefox, but the only problem is that you have to get all the plug-ins for it, but thats "simple as pie" hehe.

You mainly get spyware from programs. Adaware only turns up browser cookies on my system but those are harmless. I rarely get any spyware anymore because I check google every time I download a new program. Just google it and check out what people are saying about it. You can find out everything about a program that way. Lavasoft just came out with Adaware SE and its even more kick ass then the older version. I don't really use spy-bot S&D anymore because it doesn't seem to be updated any more.

I'm using Firefox now after MotoX suggested it in another thread and it works awsome. It seems a little faster, less buggy, easier to use, and has alot of good features.

i've got a webrebates01.exe and webrebates00.exe in my running processes. Neither adaware, or spybot gets rid of them. And when I try to end the process, it ends, then starts right back up again. I havnt noticed anything they are doing (pop-ups, adds etc) but they are just using up some of my resorces.

Hey KX check here http://www.help2go.com/postt8158.html

And to kill processes for good open up the Run window and type msconfig. Then go to services and disable any ones you don't want.

http://www.sysinfo.org/startupinfo.html is a really good page to find info about running processes.
