Hello. It's possible Create mods for mx atv supercross?? like Reflex ? skin graphic and bike graphic ? or not yet ? :P

mcm2boys

if there is enough interest it would be the next step for me..

You guys... I feel like Nordic n Rainbow has given you a biig cake that tastes like total crap....And instead of trying to remake the recipe so that the cake tastes better...You only care about the appearance...and how it will look nice from the outside. Would be nice if some people would come up with a mod improving physics and making it more reflex like...I don't even know if it's possible. I'm just saying.

mcm2boys

Personally i like sx it took a whike to get used to but not as long as the jump from Unleashed to reflex. The physics are what they are, for me they are a step more realistic (apart from the start jump and clutch boost - which have been detuned in the latest version) making a little harder to do everything.

I prefer not to make any changes to the stock physics in any of the series, because it just splits the community up - since everyone has their own idea of how the physics should be, and it causes problems with online racing where riders start to get suspicious of everyone who beats them are using alternate physics and then it gets even harder to find people online. So all in all, for me at least, it's a can of worms i leave alone.

The physics can never be like real world physics for any 2 wheeled game until you can plug the controller into the back of your head Matrix style and feel what the bike is doing underneath you, until then there always has to be a compromise with the CPU helping out with some of the control and you will always haveto learn how to get the most out of the bike on screen - isn't that part of the fun learning how to squeeze that extra few 10ths of a second out of every lap?

Could it be possible to take the tracks, gear and the (hopefully coming) oem bikes and put them into reflex? I have both of the games on pc and the whole game structure and data folder looks identical.

In my eyes it would make more sense to try to go on improve reflex instead of putting tons of time into modding supercross...

What do you think?

I thought the same and have been swaping files between these two games. Only got crashes :(

I think it doesn't make any sense to create any kind of MVA-SX mod!

It would be way more nice to convert MVA-SX tracks into Reflex tracks! I really like the most of the track designs in the new game, but in my opinion you can't savor them in SX like you could do it in Reflex. I think it would be waaayyy more fun to ride these pretty cool tracks in Reflex! Like back in the days when it was suddenly possible to ride MXU tracks in MCM2 8)

mcm2boys

Encores tracks aren't backwards compatible, but has anyone tried putting Reflex tracks into Encore?

JamieT

The files which make up the track are quite different.  Encore has an extra RGB Mask, Chrome Lum has been replaced by something else I think, plus other bits.  Even if you just use what you have in a Reflex track, the shaders make them look completely different.

So it's completly impossible or you'll work on it?

JamieT

No it's definitely possible, but I have no desire to work on that game.

GreenLenux

Oh that's too bad, try to learn to us how to make this possible  ;D

..thinking about it the biggest obstruction to Reflex -> Encore would be the MXTables so it won't work out of the box - so scrub that...  :)

Well personally I'm LOVING the game! I've loved nearly EVERY motocross game except for the MX Sim game...just never quite got near realistic as anything else I've played and the physics felt completely wrong to me. BUT I digress..

I'm having a blast running the tracks and Laurie...if you decide to make modding possible in any form, I'll come out of retirement to make tracks for the game! I don't have TONS of time these days as my Concert Sound business (Sound Advice www.facebook.com/soundadvicekc ) is keeping me pretty busy most evenings...but my days right now are wide open for game play and experimentation.

AND...I've been itching to reinstall and work with Leveller, Terragen, and some other tools to build something new. I just don't want to try to install MCM2 again on my Windows 10 PC. Unfortunately that seems to be the most active MX Gaming community these days!

Just playing around here...but how is this NOT fun (Yeah I am really bad in this video...so sue me! lol)

My first National track in MX vs ATV Encore...I'm LOVING it!!! Now this is FUN...don't know how people aren't just eating this game up. Sure it might not be the most realistic game I've ever played. BUT...it is certainly one of the most fun, and the world and textures are pretty good. I think we could make them even better...but WAY better than anything else we've been given thus far. Except...I recall that the lighting effects in Reflex or possibly Unleashed were pretty sweet too...and so far it looks like those may be gone here. None-the-less...I've completed both 125/250f seasons and almost completed the 250/450f SX season. Decided to check out Nationals and MAN am I glad I did!!! Plenty more in this game to check out. I'm most happy that they don't make it necessary to do waypoint and fmx in order to have fun with this game!

If you have the disc copy try texmod: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2KydzfwCtU

This worked for Reflex. If I ever get caught up on web design work I planned on packaging all the skins and remapping the textures of each rider so they look accurate (number styles, gear, colors of frames etc) Would be fun to do an entire package each year.

That said. I have a legal copy through steam. Does anyone have the EXE file they can share with me? I can show my verified purchase. Just don't want to buy it again.

Laurie, I have to disagree with you, physics can always be changed for better as long you moderate and select a small group of experienced mx riders, to squeeze the potential of the game engine... let me tell you that what killed or split unleashed community was not the physics, was the ability for everyone to change it and use it to cheat!

As long you don't let everyone be able to change the physics.. imo the game will have many more players and the community will grow... you just need to choose a small group of trusted people (with real riding experience) to work on it, as you will have the final decision to include it in the game... could be a feature like pro and stock physics!!!

Here is a video from unleashed with REV mod running in a real scaled supercross replica (this mod converted unleashed  into the best mx game till date) :

If anybody has actually done anything with this game, contact me via twitter or email if you can?  Might be willing to pay for custom/modded tracks and such in supercross.

Do you know any sources to download tracks specifically built for the REV mod?  I was thinking of loading it up to check it out since I never knew it was available until it apparently died off.
