General Discussion MCM 2 / Quick Reply
January 12, 2005, 11:49:40 PM
This forum supports an option called quick reply.  Some people know about it and some people don't.  I figured I would post this here so everyone would know about it.

What the quick reply does is add a text box at the bottom of the list of messages where you can enter your reply.  It is a personal option so whether you have it or not is set in your profile.  Here is a picture of what it looks like:

To change your profile to enable this option just follow these steps:

1. Click on the profile button at the top of the screen.
2. On the left side of the profile screen is the "Modify Profile" section.  Click on "Look and Layout Preferences".
3. Change the drop down on the "Use quick reply on topic display" line to "show, on by default"

I've moved the forum to a new server.  If you notice anything wrong please let us know.

Thanks,

I've been informed that there is a certain company looking for track makers.  If you are hired it would require relocating to the Phoenix area.  There is the potential for multiple postions to be available.

If you are a track maker and interested send me an e-mail.  If I think you are capable of what they are looking for I will pass your name along to the people doing the hiring.   I only want serious people to e-mail me about this.  Please send me a link to the track that you think is your best.

If I pass your name along remember it is always a slow process.  It doesn't happen overnight.  So patience is a plus. :)

General Discussion MCM 2 / Alternative Browsers
September 10, 2004, 03:24:02 PM
A discussion of IE vs the world came up in the 1st XP-SP2 thread.  I figured I would start a new thread to discuss alternative browsers to IE.  My own personal feeling is that I'm perfectly happy with IE and I have been less than enthused with any other browser that I've tried.  I'm interested in hearing what people like about other browsers (not IE bashing), but real features that are missing in IE.  The first thing to realize is that even if you aren't using IE to browse the web the functionality of it is within Windows and you are using it everytime you use your desktop.  IE is really a simple frontend to windows functions which is evident by the size of IE (89k) and the tabbed browser MyIE2/Maxthon (595k) .

If want to discuss what standards IE doesn't work with please give some specfic examples (ie. web pages that demonstrate the problem).

Thanks,
Bruce

General Discussion MCM 2 / XP SP2
September 10, 2004, 03:09:25 PM
The other SP 2 thread sort of got polluted with an IE vs the world discussion.   I figured I would start this thread to actually discuss XP SP2 issues.  I have installed SP2 on my main workstation and have not encountered any problems (yet). :)

I am creating another thread to discuss alternative browsers.
