Alright. WIsh you good luck with the task.

Hey, I figured, once you've set your account picture you can't alter it. Maybe work on a function to enable that - I'd need it, lol ;)

Our Bikes / nebdaar's bikes

I like this category :D

I've owned only very few bikes in my life. This one I bought brand new in 1984, a Yamaha XT 600 (Type 43F).

Pictures from around 1987

The XT 600 with the small gas tank was just been released. It was somewhat a paradigm change in road legal enduro bikes. 600 cc in a single cylinder! Spring travel like mad, single shock suspension in the back. And those colors: red seating, red frame. I remember how others asked "Hey, that 600 you just sticked on it, right? That's not really a 600, right?". Fun times. I was young and had some serious fun in the dirt. I've never been a MX rider, more a casual rider whenever I found a dirt spot to ride on.

Well, I've got old meanwhile, hitting 52 this april. I'm not riding in the dirt anymore. But guess what, my old bike is still with me ;D Just rode her yesterday (we lack a bit of winter around here). Fun reliable XT 600 43F :)

AUS_Rocket, if that doesn't ring a bell. hey mate, glad to see you around here too ;D

I'm trying to get a grip on this game and all the tools for track creation. Pretty steep learning curve I gotta admit. Anyhow, I'm on it...

Track Creators / Re: Splines not very well done

All true and really well said!

Unless... you're a goofball like I am whose goal was (and prolly still is) to create tracks with unbelieveable hidden shortcuts. Check this ultra old webpage about an MCM2-track I created way back: http://www.nebdaar.com/thbp.htm. It shows the whole creation process from idea sketches on paper (yeah, that existed back then) to the finished track. Took just about 4 month if I recall it right. Standard lap times were around 1 min, cutted track times a bit below half a minute. Most shortcuts did involve a certain amount of (high) speed, so it was tricky to enter the speed line and then, due to tough steering at high speeds in MCM2, to stick to it. Was quite fun back then to see the pros doing lap after lap to figure it all out.

General Discussion / Hello from nebdaar

Heyo everyone!

Some may remember me from way back when MCM2 was our passion. nebdaar here, just a tiny bit older meanwhile. I'm sure, for the vast majority here my name won't ring a bell. Doesn't matter, we may get to know each other by time. I'd like to say hello to everyone :)

I just got Reflex, trying to get through the career stuff and yes, I'm not doing all so great. I wasn't a good rider back then, heh, so that didn't change. Actually I'm just trying to get a feel for the game for now. Though, I might get back into track creating business as I loved it back then. Not sure yet. Depends on the tools I'd need and of course, on the demand of nebdaar tracks by you guys here. I would be very pleased if someone could guide me to the neccessary things, what would I need, what should I know etc.

I spotted at least two familiar names, maybe 3 - mind me, I got a rusty memory, maybe there are many more from the old times ;)

Thanks a lot for any hints on Reflex track creation or any other feedback!

Cheers, neb

P.S.
have a look at a track preview of my very last track that was published for the game MVA back then, maybe some of you like it:
