I'm famous!!! ;D ;D ;D

(well kinda, maybe, I guess not....  :'()

Anyways, you can build your jumps and stuff in PS, or there's a terrain editor called Daylon Leveller (whichs cost $50), or you could do it the JamieT way and make the heightmap in 3DS Max, but I'd recommend that you start off in PS and watch Al167's tutorial videos(as Ds19 stated above), it'll take a lot of trail and error to learn how it works, but I'm sure you'll figure it out.

I am having the same error message pop up, and it is VERY annoying. Sadly, I don't of any fix, but what I do is load another ecosystem file that is empty or only has 1 tree while working within Digital Earthworks, then at export time I swap over to the actual ecosystem file for the track. Although it is annoying when you are still trying to place more trees, but moving the camera around less can help, and the number is just the number of the last tree placed/total number of trees.

I was playing with some game modding software and I'd like to know if it will be ever possible to mod bike parts like frame, engine, wheels and others with the DLC Packager?

I may be possible but from my quick and low understanding of modding, I think it might require digging into the texture files of the bike models themselves, since the frame, engine, wheels and other parts aren't apart of the graphics texture, meaning a second texture to create for that customization. I have messed around with extracting/ripping some game files, I have found some textures where it's the engine texture only. That's about all I know.  :-\

UPDATE

I know its been a long time since most people have heard or seen anything from me, and I'm sorry, I got too busy this summer, due to real life riding every weekend. This was my first year as a track maker, so I wasn't sure how things would go. But it's winter now and snow is back, meaning I can no longer ride, leaving me with time for some track making. Although I have slowly worked on some things this summer when i was out of school, but as you can tell no tracks have been completed. So, I'm going to ask you guys if you would still like a 2016 AMA Spring Creek National, or just wait for 2017? I have sent lots of time in and out of the heightmap, and its still not done, but it's getting there. I am sorry I didn't complete as my projects as I would've liked, but that's just how things go sometimes. I am already planning on not being able to make tracks as much starting March 2017, since at that time riding starts and April and May or Loretta Lynn's qualifiers. I am aware of the 4 2017 SX tracks I am to do. So, would you guys like me to complete the SX tracks, then proceed on Spring Creek (Millville) for 2017? Let me know what tracks you would prefer to see.

-Thanks, ktm6060

If I knew how to mod Reflex and hack into the files lie JamieT does, I would do this go ahead and do this. But sadly I'm not JamieT or JamieT #2, so at the moment I sadly cannot help. But I do believe that anyone with JamieT's knowledge could create a mod for this feature without it being too difficult.

So the other day I created a video tutorial on how to get real life heightmaps for replica tracks since nobody else seemed to know how. So I created this video after C4Denator requesting I show him hows it's done. Everything should be explained in the video, but if you still have any issues feel free to leave a comment with your question(s). If you guys have any other ideas for special tutorials that most track makers (or newer) ones may not know how to complete a certain tasks, let me know and I'll see if i can help out.  ;)

Track Creators / Re: Objects may be broken.

Only issues ive had is that you cannot have a startgate (holeshot gate thing) in a freeride map. So for a freeride map you have to delete and leave out the startgate. But it will work perfectly in a Supercross or Nationals beta track (with splines). You should be able to leave in all of your tough blocks and other stock objects. Hopefully this helps.

Well, for custom tracks you need to first install the beta slots so you access the tracks in-game, to do that you need to install the beta slot files found here: http://twisteddirt.com/reflex_digitalearthworks.php#dlc

If you're not sure how to install them properly, you can follow a tutorial found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cmqz22F4nZo

I WILL be doing the Spring Creek MX 2016 AMA National track, and possibly Red Bud as well. I ride at both tracks, so hopefully they'll be great replicas. Although I will not be starting for a while, for me to build other tracks and improve my track making skills before i go all out on these AMA tracks. If anyone has anything they can send me or do to help, that would be awesome. Mainly objects, like a finish line or the bales (and possibly textures with bump maps). That WILL help with the creation time being less, allowing me to spend more time on the track and terrain.

Thank you if you chose to help  :D

Also, if anyone plans on making other 2016 AMA tracks that would awesome. Lastly, if you guys would like beta track updates of these tracks before they are finished, let me know and I'll see if I can do that for you guys too.

Track Creators / Re: please Help

Sound to me like your having issues, putting the track into the game, in Digital Earthworks, export the tracks as a beta test track. That will export it to the game automatically to the beta slot you set it to (default beta slot 1). If you haven't done the splines yet then it will be a free ride track, or to the nationals or supercross once you have made the splines and set it in the activity tab. Hope this helps.  :D

After you create your height map, are you first putting the file through "VeiwDispMap"? This program smooths the terrain, getting rid of sharp points in the terrain. Then you can import it into DE.
