Cool, I'll check it out... Is it worth checking out???

I think so... IMHO its a much better game than the SX game from Nordic... somehow they screwed it up

I've been out of the loop lately. This gave sounds like a dud. Was this made by the old Rainbow crew? Do you have a link to MXGP?

This was the so-called going to be great addition to reflex/Alive.  on 360/PS3 only for now.  MXGP is on Steam and 360 via order.

Well what a disappointment, the game is not a complete failure, but so far off what they promised.  Why did they just not use the reflex Model and work on the game with great tracks and multiplayer?

And you have to use $$$ to buy bikes... so its micro-transaction... which is ok, but $3 dollars a bike!  Are these bikes even different from their stock bike?

Anyway, MXGP is much better imho!

So guy's are you all reviewing/discussing the 360/PS3 versions?

Is it worth getting?

So how is this, can't believe I missed the release... is it as good as reflex?

Never mind, I bought it from the Xbox store D/L now... at least someone made on... I'll give it a try and at least be supporting their efforts

Its kind of what I expected to be honest...  Can't say that's a good thing though... *sigh*... Atleast we still have Reflex - which (hopefully) is only going to get better and better.

Ahhhgh, someone who agrees with me... !  Disappointing its taken  year for them to basically develop this.

Hi RK,  a little cranky :), huh?   It looks fine to me.  I see it as a refined Alive SX.  No matter what complaints there were with Alive I still enjoyed the heck out of it.  It's going to take them some time to ramp up to PS4/XBox One games.

I believe that nobody make MX/SX games as good as Rainbow did and I'm glad that Nordic has assembled some of them back together.

On another note, I would love for you to remake some tracks for Reflex.  Now is  a perfect time to start.

Heya Bruce, no not Cranky, just taking facts... it looks like crap, all their introducing is a few new tracks.  Yes I'm glad, yes I'll buy it, but really surprised no improvements.  They're jumping over jumps, not real technical... but I'm all in!

I agree, they've the best we have, a shame really, as no one really focuses on Motocross.

Actually Looks like Crap!  The guy is over jumping everything, tracks look pretty weak.  Also it sounds like its for Alive only!

Disappointing

Mx vs ATV reflex is much better I would say

Not going to argue that, though I think MXGP is not as far off as folks imply:

1) MXGP has a much better rider/body shape and physics compared to MX vs. ATV

2) MXGP offers a NO CRAP CAREER mode... unlike Reflex with Stunts/FX and Truck Racing CRAP IMHO!  maybe if *#*#*pit view worked and a wheel...maybe!

3) MXGP has real tracks... and they're traditional REAL MOTOCROSS STYLE.  Would love to see Legends version!!!

4) MXGP has bike tweaking and garage mode which is sort-of crappie, but better than nothing.

Just saying, the game is well worth the sale price of $34US

I'll be buying this game soon. I hear it's a lot like iRacing as far as handling and driving physics so I'm pretty anxious to try it out!

I think this is a really great game, it will have mods as well and offer good online racing IMHO.

iRacing's safety rating system sucks IMHO... two tires off track, no lost of control, still safety score lowered...!

You know guys, I'm not saying MXGP is better than Reflex, but realize this, this is the first time in many years anyone has tried to develop a new MX game... in many years, I guess since Alive which was crap compared to Reflex.  You can almost count on one hand the MX games for PC developed since MCM...there were:

MCM/MCM2
MotoTrax
Motocross Mania
MX vs ATV (Unleashed/reflex/alive)

fell free to mention any others worth noting..... my point is that if Milestone feels this is a seller, they may spend time/money to expand unto another release next year... maybe even retro classes like they did with MotoGP.  I'm think since the game is only $33.99 anyone playing on a computer these days can support that... anyway, just my thouhts be glad to know what you guys think.

well for me its a fun game, and I've enjoyed it so far, its new, different and fun... career mode only for now as online crashes and disconnects often.

I think the game has a lot of potential and maybe they'll fix some things but Milestone and black bean never offer many patches.  We may have to wait until next year... all we can do is hope Nordic gets it right.

Well its not reflex (we may never get updates for Reflex) but its fun and new.

I think the so called SX game Nordic is doing has me skeptical... blending reflex and alive with the old MX vs ATV...!  I'm not sure they're not getting this goofed up, I hope not.

I was just hoping for DLC right off for Reflex... but nothing.

Miki, I'm thinking the Demo is a little buggy... I'm seeing stutters even and averaging 90-100 FPS with FRAPS...!~ Also sounds stop working if F1/F2 is used a few times.

Very Good assessment King.... however I'm going to bite at the 15% discount as I think Milestone/Black bean have earned my support.  for 14 tracks, and pretty good physics, maybe the money response will help them issues/spend time developing  some bug fixes/updates to make it better.

I think with more time it will feel better... but no reflex it is not!

Please tell me how you Jacked with Controller?  I did not see a sensitivity adjustment for the sticks.  The body movements/right stick is only minimal response and if the guy leaned more it would be better I think.  I've only plated a few races, messed with gears and AI on Med... finished 4th.  only did a total of 4 - 3 lap races though.

I bought it... 33.99 is a cheap price for a full game... these guys did a good job for first release.  Maybe they'll improve and maybe even release a retro pack.... 70's and 80's bikes like they did in Moto GP

Typical sim racer here...
Played NFS series & raced GTR2, LFS (Live for Speed), rFactor, TOCA3, Race 07, EVO, etc.
Eventually, tried iRacing for (free month) but don't have time to make the high cost worth it.

I have rF2 & Assetto & both show promise, but I am tired of waiting for a trickle to become a river.

This pre-release BS process has taken away the "big deal" of new games that are FINISHED.

The community does not have a big deal weekend where we all get online & race all night like the obsessed geeks we are.

Games just seem to trickle updates, linger longer & maybe, someday, whenever, in a while, the week after next, but maybe longer, maybe even month after next, we can't say for sure because devs are afraid to set dates, but just keep waiting & eventually we can all get online at the same time to race a FINISHED GAME.

Assetto has made progress since it's release, but it seems like slow progress...

Assetto is definitely worth buying when it is on sale, but I have given up on RF2 ever getting mods & revitalizing the community like RF1 did.

I could not agree more King....!  I thought at first with pCARS that supporting the beta testing would be a great way to get what we wanted, but they've just dragged the process out.  I think it's help them get enough money to sort after more licenses... also helps them so manufactures their product developed off the users.

Have you tried pCARS?  If you want to PM me.

ive been looking into asetto, it does look good!!!,  Ive got rfactor 2 already which gives me my car sim fix. but this looks like a bargain, just might have to log into steam for a purchase! ;D

I have rF2 as well, this is shaping up to be a great game.  Though I like rF2 its been disappointing.  I'm alos a pCARS owner and iRacing...plus of course GTR2 and Evo.

General Discussion / For Car Gamers - Assetto Corsa
March 17, 2014, 01:44:09 PM
For anyone into Car Racer's... this is an incredible game (still in development) which if ordered I believe comes with 1st DLC.  Anyway, I highly recommend this to anyone with a solid wheel setup.  The 458 Ferrari Italia at Imola and the Nürburgring is simply awesome.  No assist of course.

If you like iRacing I believe you'll really enjoy this at a fraction of the cost @ 40US though it was reduced a couple weeks ago to 26.99. http://www.assettocorsa.net/en/

6 days before this release... !  Crazy thing is Steam and PC at Amazon D/L only options I found.
