MCM2 Bible eh? Sounds like a good idea ;) And glad my stuff helped you out mate! Should be making some new tutorials for MVA, and they're gonna be much more printer-friendly!

'Sall good people :) I just noticed that I myself never thanked O_R on the tutorial itself. :-[ Sorted it out now, but I still feel a bit hypocritical! Sorry again for the rant, I have a lot of respect for both you guys and what you bring to the scene :)

Just read your TY Denny, made me smile that did. ;) Thought nobody understood about the tears!! :'(

A lotta people seem to have figured out the 3DS Max object/tree shadows... That stuff is waaaay over my head! Still I always liked how D2 uses the actual tree models for the shadowmaps, while Max uses the LOD billboards... D2 gave you more realistic shadows in that way IMO. Any chance of being able to render the tree shadows double size in the future Laurie? Bit of antialiasing would be so slick :D

I never thought my tutorials would be particularly popular... specially the texture one... but now everyone's doing Terragen textures. I'd appreciate a bit of acknowledgement for the time I put in on my tutorial though... I've seen two or three Terragen tutorials out now which don't mention mine at all, but actually just say the same basic thing. When I basically figured all that stuff out myself (apart from the basic inspiration from O_R's tute) it makes me a little upset to not get any recognition... Not singling you out Ratax mate I've seen other ones as well... guess it's just the last straw that broke the camel's back :(

And sorry for ranting... I'm not habitually a grumpy bastard!

Haha, my tutorials are so out of date... sky one is still relevant but DEAR GOD that sky is ugly... and who uses Photopaint?!

New ones should be online by the end of February. PhotoShop based... Textures is definite, skies if they're supported, and dispmaps if I can be bothered :P

Anyone wants help on Terragen, gimme a shout on MSN, I've been using it for about 6 years now, so y'know ;)

Know what would be so ace? If the PC version tracks could work on the PSP... Think of that, you could tear up Thirsty Desert III on the bus to work, in your lunch break, etc etc...

Likely? I think not, but I'll write to rainbow and suggest it for their next game. (which personally I think should be something like "MX vs. Horse Unleashed") :P

I would really like to see these, my University course is all about game design. How do you watch them Mike?

Yes you could see others skins in MCM 2.  The only limitation was that you had to have a copy of the same skin and it had to be the  same name.  I like when games like Combat Flight Simulator 2 actually send the model and skin to you.

Ah yes, I thought it was something like that. I know most multiplayer PC games will do that now, particularly FPS where they will even send you the map if you don't have it... Consoles are lazy though.

The sad truth is they know lots of people will buy it anyways... To be fair though, it is just a console port, and I think the fact that we have any kind of editing abilities at all is just awesome. :)

In MCM2 online could you see other people's bike & rider skins? I didn't think you could, and I'm sure with some hacking of the res files you could replace the skins in singleplayer...

Of course if this was a brand new MCM game specifically for PC then the omissions would be unforgivable...

If you use Terragen for the textures, skies, disp. and you're really pushing the envelope, then you might get an invite ;)

I am calling you guys back in for one final mission! Private message me with your MSN addresses ;)

I'm gonna buy the "terrarists.com" domain name (it is available!)

Once the game's out I'll be happy to offer out some Terragen advice as well, and I'll be redoing the tutorials ;)

Maaaan everyone's being well negative :( This game looks so much better than MCM2, with almost all the track creation options we had before confirmed! I can't wait to start making some tracks for a brand new game with kinky new physics, graphics and sun flares! Guess you naysayers are welcome to stick with MCM2... Me? I'm going next-gen :D

...but no matter how good the editor may be,if the gameplay isnt that great it doesnt matter what stunning tracks can be made.

From what I've seen, the stock tracks look pretty lazily textured, but that's not the point I'm trying to make... The bike physics look seriously tasty. The game is guaranteed to be better than MCM2, so as far as I'm concerned, there's no way it can't succeed! By "gameplay" do you mean the singleplayer campaign, or the physics?

Have you tried a full reinstall from the CD? I'm at home for Christmas at the moment, but I'll take the CD back to Uni with me and try it. Not hopeful though :-\
