Digital Earthworks is malfunctioning recently and I don't know why this is happening since it has never occurred in the past.
When I'm doing anything in DE, placing objects, doing Splines, or moving, or nothing at all, the object im holding goes in one direction forever or the camra does until I have to exit and restart the program.

A message pops up saying:

List Index Out of Bounds(1767)

*usually the 1767 number is different everytime

I have no idea how to fix it and this error is preventing me from making a track, any info on how to fix it is very helpful.

It used to be very easy to make dirt shiny in the older versions of DE, where on the RGB/Mask map, you paint white on the alpha map and in game it turned the dirt shiny. With the newest update of Digital Earthwork, if you try the exact same thing, it makes the dirt white rather than shiny. KidZorro showed me how to do so with the new version of DE, but it required doing ALOT of steps to which i completely forgot. If someone could shed some light to help me, it'de be much obliged.

In Digital Earthworks, go to Scene, then at the very bottom, itll have an option of Track Slot, then change the number with your keyboard once you select it. BAM! Done.

Laurie I was chatting with JamieT about making a realistic lighting effect on Mx vs Atv Reflex Custom Tracks Via Digital Earthworks. He told me you may be able to help me out. I tried to make a nice looking lighting effect on my track, but it looked pasted on the dirt and fake using the chrominance map. Is there a way to make realistic lighting in DE, or will there be? Please help me out Laurie! Thank you m8.

Track Creators / Reflex-Central Corrupted? 1/30/2016
January 30, 2016, 09:02:16 PM
As of 1/25/2016 the website to post tracks: http://reflex-central.com/index.php will not allow any finished tracks to be uploaded, only beta tracks. Please advise the Admin of the site to fix if someone hasnt already. I have a track i want to pump out but it wont let me :(

Ok so make your screen NOT full screen, Then when you want to take a good pic of the track, press the button "prt sc" (print scan). Then go into Paint and press "paste". this will show you the picture where you can save and edit the pic in photoshop.

Also i tried telling you Beazeolly that i cant find your username on Steam, but try adding me: C4Detonator

I have a question about the Tab labeled "Bump Models" under the "Terrain" tab. There are four "Properties" to choose from: Caterpillar bump model", "Tractor bump model", "Rut bump model", "Sand Rut bump model". You need to import a '.surface' file for there to have some type of thing happen. I have no idea what these are and im interested in how they work and how i can use them to my advantage. Any info at all is greatly appreciated.

I spent the last four days with non-stop typing, creating this document. Inside the written document, I have provided Four links:
       -Photoshop Free Trial
       -Al167's Track Building Kit
       -Digital Earthworks made by mcm2boys
       -TheC4Detonator Kit

I have SO MUCH WRITTEN on this document. All of the tutorials on Youtube, dont go into alot of depth in what they are actually doing, in this document, i go into alot of detail, explaining what something does, why you should use it, and how you can create/edit it to work to your advantage.

Not only do i explain simple things, but i also explain the advanced, which inlcuded, but is not limited to:
-How to make Certain Types of Jumps (Single, triple, landing, whoops, rollers, tabletops, step ups, etc.
-How to make Certain Types of Turns (180 berms, 180 slants, 90 berms, off camber, catch ya rutts, etc,
-How to understand all of Digital Earthworks
-Create AI that actually can race the track correctly! Seriously, instead of making the computer racers stupid and do random things, you can now adjust your SP lines to make them do specific things
       -Create/Edit Zone Maps
       -Place Objects/Nature
-Place Bales in a "Chain-Like Pattern"
-Place and Edit Water onto your track
-There is alot more for you to find out that i have written, but the list keeps going on and on...

I made this hoping that beginners, novices, and maybe even some pro track creators can learn more about creating a track than before. I go into high-depth in this tutorial, but I had COLORCOATED the original file so that it is easier to read the document quickly and not get bored. I know people dont like to read, and i understand that, because i dont. But i put alot of effort and heart into this so i really hope you enjoy this and appreciate my hard work i have put in for the Reflex Community. With this document, i really hope the future track creators can build some amazing stuff later on.    :)

If you have any questions or need to contact me by Steam, my account name is: C4Detonator

Here is the link to the original Document with colorcoating:
https://www.mediafire.com/?xp8ppxp80hbrpau
If that link doesnt work, its going to suck, but i included a plain text version, this is an open note document file (this is last resort, only if the one above wont work on your computer):

So when i go to save Daylon Leveller as a Bmp file, the outcome is a very small (150x150 pixel) picture which is differentiated by two colors depicting its height: blue - low, red - high.

Since the bmp file makes itself 150x150, i open up photoshop and enlargen the bmp to fit the dimensions 1024x1024. I transfer the file to DE now and set the scaling to 5.00 to keep it very tall, however, the elevation bumps are far too severe to ride on, so it has to be smooothened. I take the 1024x1024 bmp file of my track and put it into the Displacement Map. Because it was a blue and red file, the displacement map looks at the file and reads it incorrectly - making the track completely flat with huge spikes.

So, instead of using the displacement map, i try going back in to photoshop and blurring the Bmp file. Alas this gets ride of some elevation bumps but pretty much blurs too much of the track to where it is too different than the original track.

Is there a way I could take the original blue and red Bmp file and smoothen out the elevation bumps without distorting the track? (Thank you for your replys)

Ive made several tracks with photoshop and have used the displacement map to smooth them out, but i just found out about Daylon Levellr to make really cool elevation tracks. I want the mountain track to be fairly tall, so in DE i set the scale settings to ~10-5 to be very tall. With that happening, the terrain is far too bumpy to just upload, so i try to smooth it in two ways, but neither are working: 1. Gaussian blur in photoshop cancels out the jumps and berms far too much. 2. Displacement map takes in the Leveller BMP (which is all blue and red looking)
and cant comprehend what is happening so it spits out a flat map full of spikes instead of a  smooth mountain.

Any suggestions to how i can smooth out my track would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I am almost finished with my first track (took days to make) and when I completed my splines, I go to save as a complier track, but I get this message :      Error: Section 2 of the spline has less than 2 nodes.
Error: There is an invalid spline in activity National.
Compilation aborted because your track failed to pass the pre-compile check.
I have a few areas that cross over each section, but I am not sure what it means that section 2 has less than 2 nodes. Can you help me out, I would really appreciate it.

General Discussion MX vs ATV Reflex / Re: basic queries

If it is a .rar file, use a program called winrar, it can extract and compress multiple files. I use this for all of my reflex tracks, so i beleive it'll work for mxgp.
