Its all actually set up in my shed, well a room in my shed that I made twice as large, I have also put in a wall size set of glass doors that open onto an entertaining area, complete with seating, long tables and a fire pit, when we have people over the projecter is swivled so it displays on a secondary screen that can be watched from outside.

Works well no matter what the occasion, be in party time, The Rugby or Bathurst.....

I have also just picked up another amp to drop into the system that will power some largeish speakers that Im going to mount in the walls facing outwards to the entertainment area, Still have to work out how to keep it waterproof but also let the sound out, Might make it a sliding door type arrengment.

Inside the house I have another 5.1 setup, running through speakers that cost me 3 arms and 7 legs, TV is only a small 32" though.

Well, thats enough stroking my AV peni, I'll go back into my corner....

that's sweet!! how do most games perform on the big screen?

Mind freakin Blowing, Imagine if you can playing something like CS:S where the other players are real life size, Everything to scale, You come around a corner and are attacked by a 6 foot player. Car games where you actually have a lifesize windscreen....Or riding in a Chopper in BF2, manning the gun, The landscape stretching out for miles in every direction. It makes the heart jump into your mouth. Its almost beyond explanation. Takes it to a level that cant be touched by a PC monitor or even a large screen TV, My display goes from floor to ceiling and right across the breadth of the wall. I sit at the other end of the room on a couch, My steering wheel and KB mounted on a movable arm that swing out of the way.

Add in the set of Altec Lansing 5.1 speakers, DVD player and TV card, Plus the beer fridge......PARADISE.

Hmmmm.....Tis a shame, I run my games via a projector, Display is about 12 foot across the diagonal, MCM2 looked absolutly crap at this size due to the low res textures (compared to todays games), Knowing that this game will look just as bad knocks a bit of the gloss off.

I contacted 2XL a couple weeks back, Wished them luck and asked what they had in mind for a new game, They responded (You just don't see that happen very often) that they were keeping their options open....

The emails are a real eye-opener Bruce, I knew weird things were going on behind the scenes but that puts a face on it, They should have given you and your crew a cut of every game sold.

heh heh heh, Soundtrack was just a little dig, I cant handle racing games with music, no matter what series they are simulating.

Anyhow, The game will indeed rock even if it is just a tweaked port with a track editor, anyone know if it will have 5.1 audio?

Video tutorials rock, Well worth watching.

Apart from the low resolution graphics, lack of content and terrible soundtrack the single biggest issue that removed all interest in the console editions for me was not being able to use my joystick.

In rFactor if your files don't match the ones on the server, boomfa.out you go.

Though I gather a program run seperate from the game to change settings after launch would get around it, Code is able to be hacked, and even the games with the biggest budgets and most to lose still have cheaters.

Think it depends on how much the community embraces it, and boatloads of people used the speed hacks on MCM2, but then again, on the otherside of the coin not one single action was ever taken to prevent it happening by those who should have given the go-ahead for releasing the patch.

And then of course we had the XP speed bug, that was massive bad luck, and a number of well known players jump on the hack bandwagon.

Damn, MCM2 was a mess.....

Hmmmm.....I found Torrents unusable on dialup, no matter how I configured the connection and sharing parameters. Imo it’s not of much use to people on Dial-up....

Azureus would be my recommendation.

Contributing, not stealing. ;D

And if the eventual track hub for the new game has torrent capabilities then I will most certainly try that method first, and as such contribute to sharing the load rather then just suck off somebodies server.

Seems to be a bucket load of misconceptions about using torrents, It does not steal your bandwidth, You set it up exactly how you wish, You can set the upload/download speed, amount of connections, simply remove the file from the list so its no longer shared, or close the program and launch it later when your not playing the game online in order to share the file for awhile. It would only take a few minutes to get a 1.1 ratio.

The files themselves are defined by the tracker, So its not random files, its controlled distribution, There is no more chance of getting a dodgy file then there is of getting one from any site hosting files.

And I can’t see anyone saying it should be the only solution, If you can't comprehend how it works or simply prefer other methods then do whatever suits, That doesn't make Torrents a bad idea, and it certainly isn't in the same realm as scumware like Kazza.

It is however a fast and efficient distribution method for files and it shares the load for those that wish to leave the program running for a few minutes, or in my case I seed files for at least a 24 hour period before removing them from the program.

This is the rfactor torrent site I mentioned,

http://rtracker.no-ip.org/

There is a faq and on there and google has eleventy billion articles about torrents.

Anyhow, I use the above site extensivly to get tracks and cars for rFactor, And I leave them seeding when the comps free, Works well, doesn't cost a cent.

Quality never goes out of style.

Last time I had MCM installed I went all out trying to track down the tracks I remembered enjoying the most, found very few.

The fact I couldn't remember the names of em didn't help..

..........Muhahahahahaha

All you need for destriibuting tracks is a Torrent tracking site, similar to what has been made for rFactor, that way everyone shares the load, gets fast downloads and it doesn't cost anyone anything.

oh yeah, Im back (who?,they say)....lmao.

Been watching from the sidelines for a couple years now, waiting for this announcment.
