TTM is working on a lap recorder like we had for MCM2.  That should breathe new life into this game.  I'm actually one of the few who enjoy the new bikes much more than MCM's.

Well.. I've not run much on line.  But I can say the menus are a "Pain in the Rear   cause unless I'm missing something... I can not even single race and change tracks.  when I try to switch activity... th menu will not respond.  Also, no ghost racing on user tracks which is great for testing tracks.

I agree the menu is lame... and all them darn "Are you sure you want to do" Save, Quit, etc...'s!

Sounds like you need to upgrade to Windows Service Pack 2, that should fix your problem.  BTW, any chance on some Kip Rekreations?

Laurie is more qualified to answer the question about his revised Dillo Too for MVA.

Custom objects will require the ability to create a proper DXT and DXG file.

Trees should be possible.  The stock nationals have an ESB file.  As long as there isn't anything in the game that would stop it from working, we should be able to add those things.

I've been playing with adding activities.  I got SuperMoto to show up in the game but the AI were only riding in a tight circle.

It will be a time consuming process to figure out what we can do and what we can't.   We have a lot of testing to do to figure stuff out.

Bruce

Do you think it would ever be possible to create 2 different kinds of traction, 1 for asphault and 1 for dirt?

Sup, I was racing with Allycat not long ago on the zone.  Good to see more and more familiar names popping up.  Racing MVA will be just like old times again.

mx: anything from aheadbmx6
sx: 51s tracks.

Im not sure but lookin at some old dogs lists you havent been lookin at the tracks put out this year.
for example 420, mx45, 101, allen, dub, me, skymx and others have been releasin pretty decent tracks.
i know its easy to hold on to classics for ever but the new school is here. :P

the last track you put out is probably the most amazing looking track I've ever raced on, I still gotta race it some more until I get a smooth line down, I'd be lying though if I said I wasn't thinking about it when I made that list.

QuoteWow I hope they fix the bike physics before they release it to the PC.
Quoteyeh, in was hoping the bike would have more realistic movements. the way he goes trough turns nearly flat out and how he moves the bike in air don't look that good.

Unbelievable.

you guys played MCM2 right? You need to realize what were getting is going to be  better than MCM2. Tho the physics might not be perfect, they are waaaay better than MCM2. Remember, we will be able to slide the rear end around and also move in the whoops. PLus, I think the rider reacts damn close to a real rider while he is in the air. We have to rember its a game. It can only get better from here.

ToaD

I should've been more specific, I meant the way he was doing whips of tiny whoops.  You can't even manuvuer that well on a BMX bike let alone a 200lb mx bike.  To me it looks like the bikes are a lot lighter than the ones in mcm2.

looks like mdx cleaned out their track database, none of those tracks exist anymore  :-\

I figured things out.  Is it possible to host games if you have a router?  It seems I can only join games.

If we go with Twisted's idea, we'll need a site like Garagedog's links site so tracks are still easy to find after they've been deleted.

read this post of mine

how long do you think the community will last when you have to pay for downloads or have to have your bandwidth SUCKED DRY by a torrent site, its crap, your killing it more than making it better....    its just another HUGE step for everyone to say, well, screw that, im not payin, or yeah, i think i can hold out and not get that track, ill just play mcm2.... and all the newbs you will turn away? they wont know how to expirienve MVA to its full potential because they will shy away from DOWNlOADING TRACKS. i really think you should get the paying idea out of your head, and just keep the option of donations and mirrors. Im sorry i have nothing to give or help out with money, but i wish the best of luck, im all for a good site for MVA but what your proposing isnt good enough i think.

See my idea, would it be reasonable to you?

I'm having trouble racing on the zone.  I get the same error as everyone else who has a router.  I've tried directly connecting my modem to my computer, but I don't get any internet at all when I do that(don't know why).  What settings do I need to change on my router to allow myself to race on the zone?  I'm dying to race some of these new tracks with real people!

Anyone know what happend to the MVM guys?  One of the dudes was a quadrapalegic but was probably one of the top 5 stunters of mcm1 and mcm2.  MVM_NoWalker I think was his name?  Good guy!  Remember his hoochie site?  Loved that *#*#*!

BTW, this is CrazyThug, I was around during the start of mcm1 and played mcm2 for a couple years.  I'm sure nobody remembers hehe.

Frost Bite and Arizona Acres have to be 2 of the most underrated tracks out there.  I always loved the WFO style.

I just want to say after a long hietus, I've already been blown away with the additions to MCM2.  I left the game right as people started making custom objects, now to come back and see that there are custom bikes, custom tricks, etc. I'm in shock.  If people find out about this stuff, I'd be confident that activity starts to rise.  I think I might've gotten back into the game for maybe a day or two if it weren't for all the new additions to MCM2 since I've been gone.  Track surprisingly are better than ever now, and I'm finally on a computer that manhandles MCM2(as is the case with most of the other old players).  The last time I played was on a 450mhz p2, 2 computers later I'm at 2.7ghz w/ a gig of ram.  The game is definitely more enjoyable now for me than it ever was, I'm sure for the people who start returning the case will be the same.

The bottome line is, someone has to get the word out about all these new changes, and I think that starts with re-opening mcm2central or atleast linking to this site and others.

Ii just cant wait to see all the older guys come crawlin back begin for mercy lol left us thin wona come sneakin back in ok i understand. :P

Yeah...that would be me! I just caught wind of this today and im freaking excited. From what I'm reading it seems like it'll be fairly friendly to advanced users. If not, I have confidence that we'd be just a bit motivated to make changes!

Anyway I look at it, it's good news! Oh and what's up to all the people I haven't talked to in ages.  ;D

Hey Muskaman long time, good to see your still kicking.

I can Imagen that Bandwidth isn't as expensive as it was when Central was at its peak. But I can imagen it would still be ridiculous for one person to take on. How madmac continues with MCM Factory is beyond me, which I personally thank for his devoted contribution.

I have been thinking about this for along time on how we could save on bandwidth. Since so many sites have gone down due to extreme bandwith.

So I was curious if there would be a way to implement say torrents rather then one person taking on the whole load. We are a community so why not share resources. Of course it would have its share of problems. But I think if we can cut down on the bandwidth usage it will be better for the community.

This is just an idea of course. But your opinions are welcome.

The torrent thing is a good idea, but it'll take a lot longer to retrieve tracks using that method, and most people won't want to seed and play because the upload will totally lag you online.  I was thinking maybe limit the number of tracks people can upload?  Increase the limit by # of downloads on a certain track.  Say someones track hits 300 dl's, he gets another track slot to upload.  This ensures that only the best tracks are going to be uploaded, and we don't get hundreds of 1-day-to-make crap tracks with 20 dl's each or "test" tracks.

I'm sure bandwidth won't be a problem though once word of this game starts getting out.  More people are going to come back and want to contribute(including me after the holidays).  The most important thing is to keep things free to the public like they were before.  Maybe you can have the ability though to be a paying member and get certain benefits(more track slots, ability to leave comments about tracks, etc.)  It sounds a little harsh maybe, but think of all the tracks that will be released if the editor is as simple as it looks.
