Track Creators / Is it just me ?

OK, here's the thing i've noticed .. each time i add an object my track file size gets bigger .. now that sounds normal to me but what has me wondering is why it happens too when i add the same object over and over again .. why doesn't it just load the model once and duplicate it ? Or is there a way to do that cause i must say the file size of my track is getting ridiculous lol .. Sure it's high res but even then, 33.6MB a little much no ? And i'm still not finished with the objects i wanna place  :-\

Oh i see, well thanx for explaining :) Can't believe that everybody who uses those trees and casts shadows on them goes through the whole "edit tree shadow" process .. i'm even more impressed by some tracks out there now lol

What's weird is that it only happens to the MXU trees and not to the stock ones for as far as i can tell .. doesn't happen with objects (bales and stuff) either

Hello,

I seem to have this problem of my mxu tree shadows being off .. it doesn't start at the base of the tree. I made a screenshot and uploaded it :

Could anybody explain me why i'm getting this and how to fix it please ? Thanx

Ok, putting mcm2 on win98 compatibility fixed the problem with the track i linked too .. Putting dillo2 0.97.1 on win98 compatibility fixed the problem with my track so u'd think everything would be fine right ? lol .. Everything works fine untill i use one of the stock stadiums with 0.97.1 .. it looks all weird in dillo2 (http://users.pandora.be/gg/ss6.jpg) but looks fine in the game .. however .. if i crash in game it sends me back to desktop lol

Conclusion so far : Everything works fine except when i use a stock stadium with 0.97.1

ps : Thanx for all the help :)

Vid Card : 9800pro (newest drivers)
Windows XP SP2
Comp is running fine except for this problem

Well i'm not sure about the 0.97.1 thing but the track i linked to seems pretty new to me with the traction control thing and the other part of that is from my own point of view. All the new tools that came out make me reinstall mcm2 after a LONG time, so i wanted to mess around with making a track again and that's when i figured out that it doesn't happen when i pack at track in 0.96.6 .. Maybe there's some new general mcm2 files that everybody has now which i have no clue about since i've been out of mcm2 for like 2-3 years lol .. I do have all the MXU files though but not sure if that has anything to do with it

Ok, i'm having a problem that's driving me nuts. It seems like tracks that are made with 0.97.1 crash back to desktop when i crash in game (sometimes only in practice, sometimes only in race, sometimes in both). Figured that out since when i pack a track with 0.96.6 (old version i have laying around) it works fine. But it kinda sux that when i download new tracks and they're made with 0.97.1 i can't crash at all or it goes back to desktop .. This one for example : http://www.mcmfactory.com/display.php?cat=tracks&id=761 .. Anybody have any ideas ? And oh yeah, using the original stadiums with 0.97.1 totally freaks out too here  :-\
