General Discussion MCM 2 / Re: Hello old friends!
March 21, 2013, 02:55:14 AM
I disagree on MX Simulator not looking realistic.  The user created stuff is really good
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2tUfvMODqI

It could use a little work on functionality.  I know JLV is/was working on terrain shaders, but I would like to see better terrain deformation.  The erode command works but it doesn't seem as good as what reflex had in that respect.

I just bought/preordered the game from a UK company today, so hopefully I get it in the mail soon and can try it out as well.  I would download it but my FAP on the satellite connection would get blown out quick

Hey guys,

I've owned reflex for a few months but haven't had a PC capable of running it until now.  Was wondering what the main sites are for the community right now?

I'm having the "Slow Motion Bug"

Is there any fixes to it, or do I just need to upgrade hardware?  My CPU was at about 80% while racing.

I have a 2.6 ghz dual core intel with 4gb ram and Nvidia G210 w/512 mb

Not a new and/or good gaming setup, haven't been into much PC gaming besides MCM2 in the last few years

Also, I'm a little out of the loop, is there any really active forums about anymore?
#5
That is pretty cool;  Just read the post on the wiki about the softness maps, guess I need to buy this game now :)

Hey guys,

Glad to see you guys almost have custom tracks working in reflex,  that is pretty damn cool.  Does the Terrain Deformation work on the beta tracks?

General Discussion MVA / Re: Rainbow Studios Track Contest
September 19, 2007, 10:15:12 PM
personally, i would make a track for this, but they only made MVA to work on certain computers, and since it only works on my home PC, and not my laptop, i wont ever have time to finish.  That only mingles with the fact the i only play MCM2 anymore.

i had no objects, just trees.

for laptop it is Win xp sp2, intel centrino(1695 MHZ), Mobile Intel(R) 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset Family(drivers 6.14.10.4410), 512mb ram, directx 9.0

any chance of dillo too having the terrain functions that UE2 has?
#10
i have found another problem:  D2 will not create tree shadows for my tracks either.  it just comes up all black.  if i move my files to the home pc that the kids use d2 works fine, so it is something on my end on my laptop.  Anyone got any ideas that would cause d2 to have problems with textures and shadowing?
#11
looks like a great game for the kids, though i dont think i would like it much.

... or Milkshape3D which now ships with the MCM2 SLT exporter i wrote for it..

wow, thats awesome! Its cool that you are recognized for some of the stuff you are doing and it is being integrated into programs!!!
#13
does D2 have problems with any graphics cards that mcm2 doesn't laurie? i have integrated graphics so i was just wondering.
#14
it's too bad MVA wont work on my laptop or i could make use of these great tools you guys continue to make

c:/mcm2/trackeditor/usermodels
the only thing im skeptical about is that my OS is on the D: drive, but i dont think that would make a difference when D2 was looking for textures.
#16
97.2 gives the same results.
#17
yes i have all the textures, i have even checked my filed against the SLT files.  it happens with every single object for me.
here is an example pack log i just made:

You could try asking over at MDX racings forums there is still a strong mcm2 community over there, perhaps if can get me a sample track and object i could take a look at the problem. But it's been a long while since i worked on D2 and i tried to compile it the other day and something is definitely wrong so it might take me a while to get it up again..

Laurie
well, it does it with any custom object for me: any of the td ones, from mcm factory, from extremes site.  Would it be a problem with my system maybe? i never had this problem with my home pc, but my laptop has integrated graphics, and maybe d2 cant handle that? i dont really know.  ive just been placing the objects in d2 and exporting the scn, running through apm, and using dillo to pack it, but it would be nice to not have to do all that.
#19
i continue to have this problem in D2 97.4, on objects that work fine if you place them in the regular editor.  It freezes right after the color map for me aswell.  I'm going to go look for a different version of D2 and give that a try.

this is awesome!
i have one question though: how do you switch back to stock, or export you tricks to give to other people?
