At this moment "NO" but  very possible i think, I posted this Z archive thread releated to files and folders in MTX - http://dirttwister.com/smf/index.php?topic=462.0 inside you can find all the model, texture, collision files for bikes and models.

Yes we can replace items :) as from my initial tests filenames are only resident source wise, i.e we can rename other files to files and they will stilll load as no data inside the "files" look for paths/names etc.

Image format *.tex (check Z archive thread) maybe somebody can make a nice little image reader ? TEX2dds and vica versa, i doubt whether it will be too long but just depends on  peoples interest but int loks fairly open for us.

Ive uploaded a Tex,Col & Mesh file for a model here - http://www.3dactionplanet.com/reg/Mtx_Mototrax_Mesh_Tex_Col.rar mayeb any "tool developers" could look at these uncompressed files, Ive already spoken to oleg(zmodeller) about the mesh format and possible import/export but he has too much on his plate at the moment but im sure "Textures/Skinning" will be possible once this little Tex format is cracked.

General Discussion MTX / Re: Online freestyle... lag?
December 14, 2004, 02:56:01 PM
I mainly play freestyle myself and stunts and yes this is a form of Lag, 1 thing ive noticed though is me as host, whenever lag occurs it seems to be translated to all players, so if 1 person gets the leg (pause) then all get the lag (pause.

I find the best way to get the "helmet" is just like mcm2 style, much better to cross a persons path as oppose to follow them around the track as you wont get the helmet that way unless you are almost side by side and "slow speeds". Try and cut across their face "X" and youll find you get much more success. Hope to see you all on track.

General Discussion MTX / Re: [Z]-Archive ? File Format ?

R.E.G Postings - http://racing.edgegaming.com/forums/showthread.php?p=11409

++Update. - 22:01 For those with interest on this.

Looking at the files using archive tool such as Winrar, you see more of the data structure there, not sure if files are therefore within compressed or uncompressed but looks like direct xbox formats as we know this is a port anyway. Just thought id make this post, so check those out in Winrar for instance as im unsure if this is right but its something forward.

++Update. - 22:06

Yes, i think this is basic compression used in most files, tests were as follows

1.Open [Z] refered file in "winrar (gzip i think) For example - Freestyle_2scn_NETZpre inside you will see exactly the same file but "uncompressed" ?
2.Then you can open these files with Notepad for instance and you can start to see a little more of a normal file format, so i do think some basic compression is being used.

Main thing here is the files you extract from the "orgin" filename can be executed and run by the game as it still loads file even though filesize is different. Inside looks like xbox format of some description but at least we can look further into this as im sure there is lots more to know and learn.

More to come im sure and the more input the better :).

General Discussion MTX / [Z]-Archive ? File Format ?
December 08, 2004, 02:38:28 PM
Hello DT community,

Was just browsing around for more MTX sites and forums and found this and just registered.

I was curious as to whether anybody has looked into the [Z]-Archive ? File Format ? of MTX as a majority of files for "possible" future Adding of bikes/tracks/objects etc as you probably know are inside these, longevity would be in no question for this as i know you guys at TD have done wonders over the years for MCM and MCM2 and im sure that anything you take on for MTX would be great and warranted by all, so congrats on that issue for sure.

Thought it best to post this thread and see what others have thought ? or maybe done already, ive only breifly looked at the [Z]-Archive ? File Format ? as all files seem to be in some Ascii encryption maybe (only guess) as im sure some of you have looked more at this.

Any thoughts, replies and suggestions feel free to post.

Thx
