Track Creators / Re: MXU textures in MCM2
November 22, 2006, 01:21:01 PM
If I understand what your asking, you want to use a tex from MXU on an MCM2 track?
Use photoshop or paintshop for your textures.  Easy enough to use a tiled tex there.  Plus, armadillo makes the worst tex possible.

I love playing around with the physics.  You can go super slow and then endo, straight into a wheelie, into an endo, into a wheelie, into .... ;D  It's great fun.
After playing about an hour, I started getting used to it.  Basically you just have to be really careful, and think way ahead.  Pretty realistic from that aspect.  I also LOVE the way you can be "tippy toeing" around a corner, and then whack the throttle wide open, lean back a little, and just rocket down the straight.
I'd love to see more from this.

Looking forward to it.

Thats some crazy track.  The big red banked corner would be sweet fun.  Mike Jones in 3rd.  I'm assuming that's "Mad Mike Jones"??

Sweet vid Showtime.  I liked the riding with Missy part.  Following the other rider is pretty cool looking in this game.
How do you get the camera that far away from the bike?????  I only seem to have the basic preset cameras, and I can pan, but don't know how to zoom.

Well I understand what your saying Maui, and mostly agree with you, but that's not an answer to the question.

And by the way as long as a game has improved physics, and we're all motocross game sluts, then they've got us by the balls. :'(

What's the deal with all the secrets in this game?  Like the object thing.  Is it a legal issue or what?  I know that some people don't like to share info, but then I suppose they shouldn't expect anything from someone else either.

Track Creators / Re: Reverie RELEASED!

Honestly, i like the lack of trees.  I like trees, but on some tracks I like no trees or a few select trees.  It's all up to the creator. ;)

Track Creators / Re: using povray program

Bing, Bruce!  I could do the same thing with Armadillo for MCM2.  I can't do it with the mxvsatv editor because it turns everything black.  Good thinking though.  And thanks for the tutorial link.

Track Creators / using povray program
February 24, 2006, 03:14:28 AM
Hey, i've been going throught the tutorial/help files for this program, and it's kinda overwhelming.  Does anyone have a tutorial or some quick and dirty method for rendering track textures?

Also can I input a povray tga file or ASCII file and output a standard grayscale height map using this program?

.....

I'm running in 2x/2x mode with setting set to high quality. Also in the game 1280 x 1024 resolution.

.....

RK
Try turning down your screen res a little.  1280 x 1024 is a lot more than the game was really designed for anyway isn't it, being a console game.

Hiding the start gate would be very useful.  That thing is anoying.

I have experienced a few of those wacky incidents, but the one that really gets me is being able to case huge jumps without wrecking.  Just lean way back upon impact, and apply the throttle and your good to go.  Your rider should end up like Seth Enslow attempting a world record, overshooting the landing and modifying his forhead.
