Wow im impressed that is a great idea for selecting physics.  hit me up on msn maybe i can help ya out and we could work on a mod together.  The game itself is beautiful, no other mx game comes close to the graphics of MUD, but it needs help in the physics department.

add my msn defiantmx@live.com

Hello yes i will try to add you... first i need to see if i have anyting related to MSN on my computer  :) hehe everyting from the past has been gone with HDD crashes/new computers... be aware that i will not be online a lot ATM.

QuoteWow, that's all I can say after waiting for over a year for this game to come out....Now the bad

The game looks and plays like a cartoon, I knew when I saw the menu's the game was going to be iffy but I maxed out the settings and played a track , it doesn't look bad but it doesn't look real at all   -to me. The boundary walls guarding you from venturing 1 foot off the track are a throw back to moto racer, this game isn't up to the standard of other Milestone games- Moto Gp was at least pretty good through all versions.

To sum up this game is geared towards 12 year-olds playing on a xbox and is a total letdown.  I can't see myself playing this game at all, shame because I was really looking forward to some competition to Rainbow but ===wow this sure isn't.
Yep its not a simulator for sure  ::) but after alittle editing it gets a little better IMO.

QuoteHey aeronauts is it possible to share your physic mod selector with us?  thx
Well ...... first of all i dunno
in the past i got so many crap about this pffffff.. it made me decide to not bother anymore.

The reason why i made this post is because i was hoping other people would be interested in trying to mod this... (read to get decent physics)
I am just trying to explane its all possible with not to much effort

What i have is not worth sending to the world... people will only ask me to do more ... which i dont have any time for it ATM
Thing is editing is only a few minutes... testing takes all the time.. which i dont have ATM.

I did it for MotoGP08 and SBK-X (also for a few THQ games) but its time consuming.. so not right now for me.

Ahh i forgot one thing i am dutch.. where are you guys from (different time zone ?)

Thanks for the reply, I was able to open the .mix files to see all the .dds and open them in gimp, what I would like to do is open the .bin or .res and look at the models and see how they are setup so I can work on how to put new models or tracks in.  Also I would love to see the changes you have made to the physics maybe add some stronger braking with more sliding of the back end would be great.

Yeah from what i can remember from MotoGP 08/SBK-X models are in the .bin file.. you should try to extract them with 3DSimEd (google it) i reckon exporting might be possible...

About my physics update

First of all its only the beginning dont expect to much
Second i dont realy like to put it on the internet ATM (it gets spread so fast) I did have so many crap about this in the past pfff.. i like to keep it to myself for now.
I just hope other people are willing to spend some time at it.. just to get it a little better as it is right now (its not that hard)

On the other hand i already made a quick/simple Physics selector for it

Maybe it might be usefull one day  :-X

Hello all,

I am new to the forum, so hi everybody

I just came across this topic when browsing the internet.

I think i can answer your question  :) the .RES files are not important (anymore) they are leftovers from the original MotoGP 08 game,, at the time the textures were stored in the .RES files, with this game you just extract the .MIX files and you will see the .DDS textures in the PICTURES folder.
You can edit these textures aesy with photoshop... best way to save is in *DXT5         ARGB   8 bpp | interpolated alpha* best quality  8) => repack the .MIX file the size will be a lot bigger, but dont worry the game will accept it (original .MIX files are compressed)
I tested this by giving Herlings and Roczen a red Numberplate and it all worked fine (no problems)

The reason why i try to look like i know a little about this, is because i did make some mods for most bike games... also for Motogp 08/SBK-X etc which are also games from milestone

I am usualy very busy in summer time so not much time to edit... but i did look at this too  ::)... and  did a little physics editing.. so i could get rid of the silly turbo boost after doing a nice scrub  ??? make the bike wheelie more easy etc, etc... after this the game did get a lot better IMO  :P

To make a long story short i hope there will be people who will edit this to the bone (i dont have much time right now) and i guess this is the right place for it  ;D
