is there a board where any mcm2 track makers are or is mcm2 just dead?

Just visited the official mcm2 site and all their community links redirect to xbox sites or are expired. If you want, I could build you an mcm uploading site, and you could upload there and link other people to it. (it would be like mcm.com.nu, thats my free domain)

Hi all.

I was thinking the smarty reflex dudes might be able to do this.. Not asking anything from you... But I just watched Metal Mulisha Black Friday and the shots in there were so cool! After that I jumped on Reflex and noticed the movements were just like cam, josh, potter....  You reckon you could make it so we can customize our replay? So we can somehow crack into a file and choose the camera angles for the replay! Or even better.. something like sim, you can pause and choose your camera angle. I know there are some cam angles out now but I cant get them to work and by the look of things they will stick to the bike like showtime camera pak (instead of being still or cable cam)..

I'm not saying 'go make it'.. but I would really like it, and people making videos with reflex would really help breath some new life into mva again..

heres how i convert the disp map (terrain):

1-open the terrain .png image in photoshop and then resize it to either 1024 or 2048.

2- then change it to RGB from Greyscale, go image/mode/ select RGB colour.

3- if its not 16 bit make it 16 bit, image/mode/ select 16 bit
3- then save it as a .psd file and put it in the same folder as your compiler.

4- put it in the compiler and save it and then "compile and save for beta testing".

the compiler will read the psd file. make the scale about 50 and then test the track. play with the scale until you get it right.

to do the textures properly you will need to make a mask map, but for a quick job you can get alright results by using the shadingx2 file  as a  topdown image and a main image in the crome lum map.

topdown image.
1-open the shadingx2 image in photoshop and then resize it to either 1024 or 2048.
2- if its not 16 bit make it 16 bit, image/mode/ select 16 bit
3-adjust the brightness and make it about half as bright as it currently is, Image/adjustments/ brightness.contrast.
4-add a completely white alpha image
5- then save it as a .psd file and put it in the same folder as your compiler.

crome lum map
1-open the shadingx2 image in photoshop and then resize it to either 1024 or 2048.
2- if its not 16 bit make it 16 bit, image/mode/ select 16 bit
3- add an alpha and make it 20 grey (0 is black, 100 is white)
4- then save it as a .psd file and put it in the same folder as your compiler
just remember to not rip anyones work.
or if you do dont release it!!!

good luck

Cheers Al.

I was talking to Werner_FMX a while ago and Suggested that he take on Reflex Track making. He said as long as its got good .obj's and other weird files, he will be happy to make us some tracks. He is talking about building Faisst's compound at the moment   :D (I think it's for Unleashed but not entirely sure)

Hey guys, so I searched the web for a while and came across some topics about a snowmobile game being requested to developers. The game would be released on PS3, Xbox 360, possibly PC and others like the PSP etc. The problem they are having is the devoloper doesn't know how well recieved this game would be and how popular that it would become. So I'm starting a few threads on multiple forums asking if you guys would sign if you would enjoy this game.

The game is said to be a simulator and they want it to be as real as possible. Heres a few samples of messages they have sent me

"We can start a system where every single interested user can pay us (completely/partially) for the software with the assurance that if you pre-order you would get a discount in the final price. We can also look at giving you access to early Alpha and then Beta such that this product is developed according to all of your wants and you can give us continuous feedback."

"yes, we are willing to develop a simulation (like GT) and not a arcade style product (like NFS).
If you are interested let me know we can plan this out about how we would tackle this kickstarting of crowd-sourcing and petition system."

This guys username is "PUCMAC" over on the Snowmobile Fanatics forums. If you have any questions don't hesitate to sign up and PM him or even just ask me too and I will relay the posts back here for reference. Thanks guys and lets make this happen!

Sounds too good to be true ! ;D

I will sign up and have a chat too him about it ;) But I am not interested in any Alpha's or Beta's or whatever. Just want him to spend his time on it and release it when its done. Simple !

MX VS ATV Unleashed does have Snowmobiles, I ride them all the time.

i think it would be easier to get the game you want, by learning how to make tracks for reflex or mx sim (snocross, freeride ect) and then get a snowmobile model. i assume you could do this straight away with mxs. and later with reflex (once we can put in a custom snowmobile).

or im not shure but i think someone may have done this for mcm2 or unleashed(any one know???)

it sounds like a great idea on paper to get the money first, but i wouldnt want to give my money up without something straight away. i think you would have trouble getting enough money. sorry just my opinion.

good luck,  cant wait to race snowcross on reflex!!!!!!

Dunno how old this Topic is. But hey Al, if we made a Snowmobile for MXS, the side of it would Dig into the ground. We would have to adjust the physics or something.

I LOVE snowmobiles, Hope he goes through with it!

Quote from: mcm2boys on February 09, 2012, 04:45:00 AMI believe there are other games that use steam where private servers have been used maybe it will be possible to use a system similar to that for Reflex - but that's a way off...

Talked to the Maniacs about that. They have played Reflex Online with Steam but they say they get kicked before 1 lap because of ping.. or something.... very Unstable Servers.

Its a shame that people reckon NO other game is better than MX Simulator, and they think they always have to play MXS. You do need a change.. lol. I play more Reflex these days, than MXS. REALLY looking forward to this track editor, I hope its simple enough for me to get by. IF thats not the case then I can just sit back and wait for a great track to hit the DLC. Will this Editor have Objects n stuff?

Hey guys! Lol, I have been browsing through some of the old posts in this forum and they were back like... 2007!

Anyways, I had a look at a Reflex track making Tutorial today and it looks pretty damn serious! Is there any way of Vonverting MXS Tracks To Reflex? Must have something to do with the shadingx2 file? Someone should make a Tutorial, if they got time because it would be helpful! Or would it encourage ripping of tracks?

Anyways, Just one more thing... Who do I talk to in Twisted Dirt who owns Twisted dirt? The Top Golden man?

Thanks for readin ;)

Graphics are Amazing, the Environments are Amazing and Surprisingly the Ground Deformation is so much like Reflex!
